Really Upset

I have been a pretty good spartan this year, bringing at least 6 different people with me to 3 home games- including FAU. I have been loud and admittedly obnoxiuos during the Notre Dame game. Im super excited about facing OSU.

But as the forces conspire against me, a good friend is getting married down in louisville @ 3:00 pm. and me and another poster are both in the wedding.

So for the both of us, everyone needs to be extra loud - and wear green.

You realize of course that MSU is selling tickets to anyone that wants them so why shouldn't an individual ticket holder do the same?

Why contribute to the problem? That's a pretty pathetic attitude.

SO it's ok for the U to make money off the Buckeyes but not an individual?

The U apparently couldn't sell its tickets to its season ticket holders, epic alumni fail. The tickets were only opened up for public sale last week. We can make up for it by buying them up now. The individual will have no problem making their money back if they must sell, more even, because season ticket packages price this ticket at under face value.

Maybe we should start a fund to buy up all the extra tickets or get Meijer to buy them (they usually donate them to a local Boys and Girls Club)

The University is under a legal obligation to have their tickets available for sale to the general public and does not have the right to pick and choose who they sell their tickets to. An individual, however, can select who they sell their tickets to and can choose to not sell them to a Buckeye.

MSU is allowing ANYONE to buy tickets in blocks of up to 99 - why shouldn't a Spartan make an extra buck or two if they can't go?

I just pulled the following - all in section 120 - spread over about 20 rows

Ticket Purchases

Not true - MSU could limit their sales if they choosed to do so. They could limit it to MSU donors, people with Michigan addresses, registered MSU alumni, etc. However, they have decided that the almighty dollar rules for them - why shouldn't it rule for the individual ticket holder?

Because they care about the Spartans with their most promising start in years? Because they remember the red-out from two years ago? Because they are a fan worthy of the seats they own?

Being a Spartan fan > extra $20-30/ticket. I see that you disagree, and you're not alone. There are plenty of tickets up on eBay.

So sack up and make the purchase. I'm sure they'll give you a t-shirt or something for making such a big purchase

Because the university is using the money to put the product on the field. The individual is using the money for something unrelated to the athletic department.

The U already got their money from the ticket holder.

If the ticket holder can't go or wants to make an extra buck or two why shouldn't they sell their tickets to whom they see fit or at the price they see fit?

is this where we are as a football fan base?

We have to be told not to sell our tickets to rival fans? when we're 6-1 and undefeated in the Big Ten?

WTF?!?

Fine. make some god damn money. but then don't ever buy another ticket, article of clothing or any other object that associated with the university. don't show up to another sporting event. don't come to east lansing. completely disassociate yourself for the school because its obvious that money is more of a concern than the reason you bought the tickets in the first place.

you can say the ticket holder should have the right to resell the ticket how they choose. i say i have the right to think you're a complete *******.

So again - it's ok for MSU to sell tickets to Buckeye fans, but it's not ok for Spartan ticketholders to do the same?

How could MSU avoid selling tickets to Buckeyes in a way that woudn't discriminate against legit MSU fans/alumni? MSU grads live in Ohio. Many don't have an msu email address (or never did). Registered alumni? Beyond that being in the first place, what about people who are fans but not alumni? You could make them fill out what school they would be cheering for, but I suspect even OSU fans are smart enough to lie. I'm pissed at our fans for not selling his bitch out yet.

You can justify the actions of these eBay sellers all you want, but the fact is, a true fan cares about who the seats go to, and these people obviously care more about what may amount to a little extra money (although currently not even that, looking at the prices).
