Lou should know, having given Hitler one of his patented "Pep Talks" on April 30, 1945.
Both BC and AD.

Stalin I think would have something to say about that
Speak up or shut up, Joe
28M civilians and 14M soldiers died in the European War. That's 42,000,000 deaths which can probably be blamed on Hitler to one extent or another.

MSU averaged 14 offensive rebounds a game during the season and are only averaging 12 during the Tourney so that won't be a factor vs Uconn.

Are people really going to argue the merits of what that crazy, old, pissbag had to say?! What's the point?! Just enjoy the fact that a guy who is so obviously biased against our school just said that Hitler was a great leader on national television.
Why are people so sensative about Hitler? If he had said Stalin, would there be such an outcry? FYI, Stalin killed a whole lot of innocent people during his tenure as well.
schtick fail

AVERAGE: Of the 17 estimates of the total number of victims of Stalin, the median is 30 million
I hereby declare the tRCMB title of greatest mass murderer in history a draw between Hitler and Stalin and from this point forward should an idiot ESPN announcer use Hitler or Stalin in a reference there will be no dispute about who is worse.

I would suggest that great leaders lead people to do great things. By that definition Hitler was the opposite of a great leader.
I've heard the "Hitler was a great leader" topic mentioned in every single college course I took where leadership was discussed. (Both grad and undergrad classes.)
Granted, its probably not the best example to say on a college football TV show. But its certainly not the kind of comment a person should lose his/her job over...otherwise, there are a few MSU profs who should prepare for the firings too.
Hitler was a horrible person who lead people to do horrible things. But, he did "lead" them to do it.
Which, I suppose, is why so many college profs and textbooks use him as an example of leadership. So that people don't forget that you can lead people to do both good and bad things.

Has no place in the college football context where coaches are supposedly charged with leading young men to positive futures in football & life.

yeah, you all are probably right. I'll blame this on a shortcoming of the English language, there should be some words that distinguish those who lead for good and those who "lead" for bad. How do we distinguish a "great" leader from a "poor" leader? By the number of people who followed the "leader"? Or by the results of said leadership? The dominant lemming leads his followers to the sea. Is that really leadership?
BTW, professors and football commentators have very, very different jobs. Many topics that a professor might take on in his/her day to day line of work could be very inappropriate for a sports reporter and vice versa.
