The autism studies were based on kids under two watching 2 hours or more a day and the effects became more pronounced as time increased. The mapped the rise in autism to the spread of televisions into the home and even to the frequency of tvs in kids rooms and there was a scary correlation. They even found correlations between incident rates and climate - more bad weather + higher autism rates with the theory being more time inside watching tv.

The theory is that at that age kinds brains are developing the areas that deal with imaging and 3D modeling and spending too much time viewing a 2D world like tv screws that up permanently and effects a kids ability to relate to the real world as the grow up.
I dont know man- this theory seems a tad extreme to me. Sort of like the anti-flouride nutjobs.

What are you missing. Apparently you were the one who watched Baby Einstein for 2 plus hours per day......This thread is about a hot deaf chick I would like to bang. Not about the impact a video has on my son and that it might make him

This doesn't even make any sense.

I park my kids in front of the tv all day long. Baby Einstein, Sesame Street, Yo Gabba Gabba, whatever's on really, and they're the best behaved kids you could ask for.

Almost three now, and even when the tv's not on they'll stare at the wall or something all day and leave me be so I can get on the internet or watch football while the wife's out doing whatever. Tv's not a problem. I have really good kids to prove it.

Absolutely. It's pure magic for my son and there are even a few laughs for the adults, too, esp. from Cookie Monster.

Parent alert: the Walt Disney Company is now offering refunds for all those “Baby Einstein” videos that did not make children into geniuses.

They may have been a great electronic baby sitter, but the unusual refunds appear to be a tacit admission that they did not increase infant intellect.

Still had nothing to do with the videos and their ability to increase my kid's intellect. Never thought they did......

It was all about the hot deaf chick.

You don't wanna know. Trust me.

I'm fortunate, my 3 year old isn't into that one.

But according to CA sparty, she's going to be ****ed up for the rest of her life anyway because she's watched a lot of Baby Einstein, even though she's pretty damn intelligent for a 3 year old.

My kid was addicted to "Baby Einstein" for his first 3-4 years... he is now in 4th grade and reads at an 8th grade level... just got his all A report card and glowing report from his teacher yesterday.

(BTW & FWIW, He's addicted to video games, too.)

Thanks for the perfect thread to brag on my boy.
