Would the BCS Implode if The Following Happened?
Missouri wins the B12 Championship.
FL wins the SEC Championship.

Not really. You'd get Florida vs Texas in the title game.

If an undefeated Auburn not playing for the NC in 2004 didn't destroy the BCS, nothing will.

But you would really put in a team that didn't play in it's conference title game? Even though this would be the smart thing to do
I think it may bump up an undefeated non-BCS team, or possibly give an outside shot to a team like PSU or Cincy

Not much of a difference from sending the loser of a conf championship game to the BCS title game such as Oklahoma in 2003.

OK, now we're really getting into fantasyland.
There are only two possibilities now. If OU wins, they play the SEC champ. If Mizzou wins, Texas plays the SEC champ. Alabama or Florida or both had to lose last week to knock the SEC champ out of the title game.

Nah Oklahoma merely got stomped by Kansas State in the Big 12 title game. Speaking of which, I'm beginning to sense a common thread in these BCS controversies.

This is what I'm rooting for.
I just want things to be so crazy year after year that they just want to shut people up.

All it would do, would be to get all of us in favor of a Play-off much more indignant but the college presidents wont budge a bit,,,,,,it's a lost cause till 2015.
But in your scenario, I would agree with everyone Texas v Florida would be the game...............but I think USC would beat both of them for the NC.

That may be a rule in the view of the national sports media, but it's not in the BCS title game selection process.

Is that a real rule or an "understanding" amongst voters?

Which do you think? If they had wanted such a rule, they would've implemented it after 2001 or 2003 when non-conference champs did play in the title game.

Considering that Texas beat both of the teams in the B12CG by double digits, I don't look at that as a huge problem...

I was just wondering if it was subject to other "understandings" like "The Big Ten blows so their teams may never play for the title again" and "When in doubt, USC plays for the title."

These are not "understandings", they are in the BCS rules now.

It'd get us closer to FL-USC, which are the two best teams in college football.
