Is the first worth buying? I've been looking for a new game.

Online play? My only issue with these games are they can be beat in a day or two.

Call of Duty is mainly played for the online multiplayer...that's not to say the single person campaign isn't extremely fun, but I've had the game for a while now and I beat the campaign in a couple days but I still play it for the multiplayer.

Online play for the 1st modern warfare game was amazing. I imagine it will be as good if not better for the new one.
The game is mainly aimed towards online play. While the campaign is fun, you'll spend 1000x more time playing online
edit: Also, the original is still worth buying if you get a good price.

My second favorite 360 game behind only GTA 4.

I was addicted to the online play. Their system of ranks/achievements was incredibly well done. Let's just say I beat the game once, played online for months (Got to Level 35 or so) and beat the game again.
I think I'll pick it up sometime soon.
Off-topic, but does anyone know the link to that one site where you can trade DVDs/games with people?

Do you have Live, Trevor? If it's not an inconvenience maybe we could exchange gamertags via PM.

If you see BobbyKillju on-line that's me .... I suck terribly, but have fun playing. And I'm not being humble ... I really do suck. My 11 year nephew won't even play with me anymore cuz I'm to easy
I get excited when I have more kills than deaths in any given game.

I always have to pace myself with the CoD games. They're so short, but the campaigns are fun, so I always feel like it ends too soon.
I'm excited for MW2, though. My PC is hungry hungry for another sweet game to play. I've been on nothing but Team Fortress 2 and Unreal Tournament 3 lately, so I need a change of scenery

We may need to coordinate a tailgate meet-up. I'm on COD: WAW at least a couple times a week (on 360), and I'll be transitioning over to MW2 when it comes out.
It's the one vice I'm allowed. Plus, I guess my wife knows Trevor from high school. Her stock just went up.

I don't understand how people can play FPS games with a controller. I pick one up and I feel like a ****** because I cannot do anything right. I need a keyboard and mouse. The only thing I am good at on a controller is driving and football, which might be why all my games either include driving or are NCAA Football.

WASD keys for strafing and forward/backward, mouse to aim. Usually space to jump, maybe c or control to crouch, r to reload, and so on.
Spotdog is right on, and I can say this with confidence, that there's a reason Microsoft won't let console players with controllers play against PC players who use mouse/keyboard (at least for first person shooters), and it's because console players would get absolutely destroyed.

WAW is really good, but it isn't quite as slick as Modern Warfare. It's a little buggier, and I've had some connectivity problems from time to time (can't join a specific friend's party, etc).
Tanks were the big "improvement" with normal COD multiplayer, but they recently removed them from the hardcore modes, which is all I play.
The Nazi Zombie survival mode was a nice add, though. Good times.

my nephew is always talking about this glitch, or that glitch and I never know what he's talking about. I don't know how anybody figures them out.
Like Halo .. you had to crouch for 3 seconds then jump at certain plant which turned and followed you and then hit RT LT and you could superjump out of the map. I never could figure it out, and even if I could found it to be akin to cheating and wouldn't do it.
Agree that WaW seems to have more strange glitches ... like guys sort of floating on the top of flagpole sniping and one time I got 'stuck' in a map in some rocks. couldn't move or jump my way out it. Finally had to ask a teammate to shoot me.
