So 5 year old kids should get to decide who they live with? It's very common for kids (of all ages) to want to live with the parent who is more fun, who lets them stay up at late, who lets them play video games 24/7, etc.
From my POV, the fact that they put their kids on TV is enough to say neither of them should get custody. Since that won't happen, they should split custody. Kids should spend equal time with both parents.
But if you really feel that we're all in this together, then you should go down to your local Friend of the Court, get the names of some deadbeat dads and knock on their doors and beat the crap out of them. They're making the rest of us look bad.

I tend to agree that when you allow your family to be exploited for money on television (look at these crazy people and their ****ed up life!), you are clearly not putting the needs of your children first. Neither one of them are fit parents.

Sending 8 to college would be next to impossible, but I think with her book and 3 years of the show they probably would have enough jack now.
If they weren't insane and wanted to actually make it work, they would have quit the show this season.

the picture tells the story. He wants to screw around, sit ont he couch, scratch his nuts, drink right from the carton, etc. She has a taste of celebrity and is all of a sudden "all that and a bag of chips." I think, in the end, the pathology will be that she is a monster who devoured them all.
