On the other hand, Ivey has position on Moon based on the seating draw. I really have no clue how this thing will play out. One factor is that we don't have someone who will fold his way to move up a spot like last year (Kelly Kim). We know Akenhead and Ivey have no problem mixing it up. It will be interesting to see how things shake out.

Meh, one double up and Ivey's 20 million in chips will scare the hell out of everyone at that table.

I have not seen any video just updates being reported. They are down to 8 players. I won't say who was eliminated in case but if you go to www.pokernews.com you can get updates.

Fans Get Heated Up and Tossed
Two fans of Joe Cada have officially been ousted from the Penn & Teller Theatre. According to some of the people that could actually see what was going on, the two fans got into a fight with each other despite rooting for the same player. The fans were part of the group of Cada supporters that have been heavily frequenting the bar on breaks. Security made quick work of removing them from the building to keep things under control. Who said poker wasn't a contact sport?

109 hands in. Still 7 players left. Buchman's chip leader. I love the way Saout's playing.

Dinner Break
Well, it's been an interesting afternoon. So far we've lost two players: James Akenhead in 9th place and Kevin Schaffel in 8th place. The remaining seven players were just sent on a two-hour dinner break. The Hall of Fame induction of Mike Sexton will occur at a special dinner to be held during the break.
Play will resume at 9pm local time. The players will come back to the following stacks:
Darvin Moon: 41,250,000
Phil Ivey: 14,900,000
Steve Begleiter: 38,100,000
Eric Buchman: 54,725,000
Joe Cada: 10,700,000
Antoine Saout: 28,725,000
Jeff Shulman: 7,175,000

And has a 2.5 to 1 chip lead over Moon when they restart tomorrow night. Cada's a big fave to win this. I feel sorry for Saout, though. Cada hit a 2 outer on him to double up.

I wonder if that was my cousin. He's friends with Cada, and said that he was going to try and go out there to watch.

I'm still holding out hope for a nuclear explosion thus making Saout the winner by default. Both Cada and Moon played ridiculously bad and kept getting away with it. Moon made two of the worst plays I've ever heard of, yesterday.
Hand 1:
Saout raises preflop from the cutoff to 750,000 (blinds were 150,000/300,000). Moon calls. Board is KJ2 rainbow. Moon bets 2.3 million. Saout raises to 6.75 (had around 10 million to start the hand). Moon inexplicably shoves with A4 (mind you Saout is pot committed with anything). Saout shows J2 which holds. The reason that shove was so bad was Saout was pot committed with anything. Any normal range for Saout has Moon crushed after that raise to 6.75. Unbelievably bad and yet not even Moon's worst decision of the night.
Hand 2:
Moon raises UTG to 1.3 million (blinds were 200,000/400,000). Begleiter repops to 3.9 million. Flop comes 432 (two spades). Moon checks. Begleiter bets 5.3 million. Moon raises to 15 million. Begleiter shoves for a total of 21 million (not 21 million more). Moon only needing to call 6 million into a 45 million chip folds. Getting 7.5 to 1 and folding is unbelievably bad. Again if we're talking normal hand ranges for both players (we are talking about a UTG raise so I'm assuming Moon had something decent), you had better be willing to call for 6 more if you're willing to C/R to 15 million.
The fact that a guy can get to H/U while making the previous two decisions at the final table is sickening.

You do realize that Moon is the first to tell you that he's not very good at cards, right? If it's easy to get to head up, next year you should plop your 10K down and walk away with the title.
Congrats to Joe Cada. Pretty impressive win.

I'm sorry but when one gets to the final table of the richest poker tournament in the world, grinders like me are allowed to scrutinize horrible plays that he makes. I certainly know it's not easy to get HU but the fact of the matter is that he got to HU while making two ridiculously bad plays during the final table. I congratulate Cada but no one can argue with a straight face that the best player at the final table made it to HU (a certain Frenchman has that claim). Btw, I'm being nice to those two compared to what two plus two and other sites are calling Moon and Cada.

Moon made it to heads up play by accumulating a massive amount of chips before the final table even started. He built himself a cushion which allowed him to make a few mistakes at the final table and still end up in the final two (that, and running down Ivey's AK with his own AQ). Even if he did get run over by the deck along the way, having 30% of the chips in play when the final table started is pretty impressive.
Saout played better than everyone else at the final table. It's just that poker involves a certain element of luck and Saout didn't have it at the right time.
And those desk jockeys on 2+2 can call Cada and Moon anything they want. At the end of the day Joe Cada has a 4.1M payday and Moon took home 5.2M.
