I've been in Munising and now Ontanagon, and today was the first day:
1. We saw the Sun
2. It did not rain
3. Temperatures were above the 50s

I'm on Lake Charlevoix this week and I JUST saw blue sky for the first time since we've been here. My kids are going batty since we haven't been able to use the beach yet. Oh well....

Wait another 30 minutes, there's not a cloud in the sky here in Cadillac. Crack a couple more and then hit the lake.

Live in Charlevoix, last week was up to 95 with rainforest humidity. This week has been cloudy, wet and 55. The blue skies in seeing now are the first I've seen in a long while, but at least it's supposed to just keep getting nicer and stay that way for a while. Weird weather up here this summer, tons of extremes all over the board.

Quit whining!
That is why they call it Up NORTH! Esp in the UP!
I live up here because I do not want the heat & humidity of summer. The next 10 days look great! 70s-80s.
Want a Hot June / July guaranteed??? Try Memphis.
I know it is not the chamber of commerce line, but the truth is the water is cold, and we can have cool, cloudy rainy weeks.... fine for those of us living here, but it can be a beeotch to find a solid week of beach weather this early in the season. Late July / early Aug is your best bet. 1/2 of the cars coming off I-75 had a boat /jet ski / something noisy in tow.... so I am glad the weather is breaking a bit.
That said; I finished my wood today in the cool weather, and I am ready for winter!!!! Also a fine morning in the kayak, visiting the loon on a cool misty morning.
GO GREEN!

Amen Brother, The whole point of going up North is to lose touch with reality, the Temp hardly distracts me. What a bunch of Fluffers!

Other than a few days last week, our temps up here have been below normal......EXTREMELY below normal. In fact, I would guess we've had more 20 below normal days than normal temp days this year as a whole. Plus Nov. and DEc were brutal for snow.

Been at Boyne Mtn. since Wednesday afternoon. 65 and the sun came out at 4 p.m. today. Had planned on several trips to the small Boyne beach at Deer Lake. Dinner and drinks on the patio at the Beach House tonight was as close as we have gotten. Ugh.

I hear ya. We might hit the Boyne beach this weekend. I like that little Tiki bar they've got and I can tweak my putting on the practice green while the kids play at the beach.
We were in Boyne City earlier today and the kids had a blast playing in all the blowup bouncers and moonwalk type things they had set up right on Lake Charlevoix.

We were going to go to hit wineries in traverse tomorrow, but decided at dinner that we're just going to be low key and hit the tiki bar tomorrow. I'll be the guy in State or Tiger gear having beer and occassionally having scotch over Mrs. Madison's objections. (actually, maybe not. Ordered a glenfiddich on the rocks tonight and they charged me $11.75. )

Did you check the weather forecast before you made those plans? Guess not.
If you want hot weather maybe you should go south instead of north.
Fact - the temps will vary. They are not always at your beck and call.

Some people have to schedule vacation well in advance. Ever hear of a job?
And don't act like it's asking for much for temps to be in the 70's in freakin JULY! No one's asking for hot weather. Just warm weather. STFU.

Last week. Georgeous in TC one day at the beach. Followed by rain at sleeping bear dunes, mosquitoes and rain at kiti itchi kipy, followed by three days of 48 degrees and rain in Grand Marais, then a day of cool overcast skies at Higgins and Houghton Lake.
Yesterday I boarded a plane with cold damp Michigan weather and arrived home in time to enjoy the forth on the lake in upper eighties with clear blue skies.

Goodness no - I'm a multi-trillionaire who never had to work a day in his life.
How about making alternate plans, ahead of time, in case the weather deosn't perfectly suit your pansy ass? Sometime maybe you should check the historical weather patterns of northern Michigan. If you did you would fine that cool weather is not uncommon and can happen at ANY TIME.
And just when would you like me to STFU? Should I rail on you a while more then STFU? Or should I STFU immediately? I am at your service, whatever you decide.
