most often when that conversation occurs, its bcuz something is going on that the women feels is important that needs to be hashed & rehashed (i.e. for a day or so after a big fight, or big decisions that need to be made). the woman wants to talk the topic to death, to make sure that everything will end up OK.

Is this your first kid? If so I hate to tell you it only gets worse. We just had our first child 3 months ago, and she will be crazy well i do not know when because it hasnt stopped yet. Wait until she is 9 months pregnant she will hate everything in life. Then once the baby is born the get the post pardem (SP?) and you can do nothing right. She has my son with her family in NY (Iam still in MI this week) and even though I didnt want her to go she is still bitching at me about crap that is going there. Sorry rant over but Woman are F'ing crazy and once you have kids it gets even worse. Just drink lots of beer she will be pissed at you but she will be pissed at you not matter what so at least this way you will be drunk and just laugh it off or go for a drunk walk with the puppy/dog if you have one.

Is there any way we can set an "auto bump" for every day of the year at 5:30 am? I can't seem to find that feature yet...

I know that one. I got her the wrong kind of ice cream at a ballgame a few weeks back. The choices were terrible and I went with one we had at home. FML.

I've gotten to the point where I don't buy anything for her unless she gives me the exact specifications. "Why don't you surprise me anymore?" I'll tell you why, because you're fricking crazy. It's either the wrong size or the wrong flavor or the wrong color (sidenote: obligatory that's what she said) or the wrong whatever. If it's not perfect, it's wrong. It's not the thought that counts, it's the actual purchase. Why don't I surprise you anymore? Because I'm sick of being wrong. The stinkeye I get for not surprising you is far better to deal with than the wrath I get it when I do try to surprise you.

Jesus.

As far as the beer goes, I have no idea where that went wrong. Grabbed a sixer of Two Hearted and a sixer of Corona. Just to have in the fridge. She doesn't drink beer, ever. Maybe two a year. But I guess today is biannual beer day and I should have known it. Plus, she saw the receipt and noticed a pack of smokes on it. I'm hitting the bars tonight with some friends. Sue me.

This may be a question that could start a whole new thread, but I am seriously beginning to wonder why so many men still want to get married.

It seems so many married men are miserable (lots of married women are too, but I hear it from men far more often). It's a huge financial investment, most of the time the men make more money (not saying it's how it should be, it's how it is), and make a bigger financial investment in a family. Plus lots of men don't like the idea of having sex with one woman for the rest of their lives, I personally think I could handle it but a lot of guys have trouble with that.

Plus you add in the fact that most marriages end in divorce these days, an increasing percentage all the time. Any time I hear guys talk about marriage, they will say "It's great" in a sarcastic way and just laugh about it. It's become very discouraging to me. I know of very few men who are really truly happy in their marriage. I love women, but I'm wondering if it will be worth it. Perhaps I'll change my mind someday, but people talking about being in a living hell all the time is really making me wonder.

Do most men get married because it's what our society expects of them? If you don't get married you will be considered a loser, a lowlife by society a lot of times, or at the very least immature. It's just what "you're supposed to do".

Don't mean to turn this into a big issue but I'm seriously wondering about this.

1. yes society tells us we should.
2. and even though we complain about the kids we still love them and to procreate in societies eyes you should be married.

Trust me there are times when I wonder what the hell i did when i bought my first house got our as a families first puppy (and a beagle at that) and had a baby all in the same month. But my wife took the 3 month old to see her parents in NY and it kinda sucks being alone in the house, and I really miss my son. Of course if I was single and didnt have a son I probably would have gone out and chased tail with a good chance of striking out. But by Tuesday (she get home tommorow) I will be posting something about it here.

Jesus, you guys are married to some real pieces of work. I'm going to print off this thread and show it to my husband so he appreciates me more!

And I'm going to bump it every time he's being a bitch - just to be fair.

Bump - My wife wants me to sell my Mustang and buy a sedan. I don't mind buying a sedan, but I'm not interested in selling the 'Stang.

She spends me out of house and home, then tells me that we don't have enough money to keep the Mustang. I figure if I sell it then she'll save enough on the monthly payments for the sedan to pay for even more lunches and dinners out while I slave away at work.

As far as what you read on the board about guys being unhappy in marriages:

IMO, a lot of guys just come here to bitch about their lives when its going badly.

I heard this from...somewhere...the other day: People remember the bad things, the stressful things, in their lives more than happy moments. Take for example: You drive down a road that you normally take to work. Today, it happens to be horrible traffic & it makes you late for work (or late home from work). People would normally remember that one event more often, complaining about it to others, rather than all the other times before & after that they've driven down the same road & it was fine.

Getting into a relationship with someone & marrying someone involves knowing that person inside & out. When you know someone that well, clashes with your person will happen. There will be times when they annoy the crap out of you & just piss you off. You don't always have to LIKE the person at any given moment, but you should LOVE them....& thats what people need to realize.
