Well thank God that it relates to Favre is some fashion. Otherwise it just isn't worth covering.

This will be interesting. From the way it looks in my opinion, and from the wifes statement that she hasnt seen or heard from him in days, this will not end well for McNair.

Yes...this is what it is looking like. Sad. RIP.

Well, there's the sports version of "Fatal Attraction" for you...I'm sure there's a handful of athletes that just winced somewhere, and will want to clean up their own mess.

Really sad, but it sounds like it was getting that way for McNair. Guess he and his wife had put up their house for a $3 million price tag recently.

It's too bad this will tarnish a legacy, but that's life sometimes. I know it didn't end the same way, but makes me think of Kirby Puckett for some reason. Not quite the person we thought.

It makes me laugh at reports on ESPN saying it was a 'dating relationship'. Right. How many dating relationships have you had where you pay for an escalade and a condo for the girl you are 'dating'.

Sounds like she was really holding him to that "I getting a divorce" line. The cheating married guys version of "I'll call you tomorrow."

I honestly can't believe chicks fall for this one. My sister-in-law was in one of these. The entire family was saying "no he won't", but she hung in there believing. After 5+ years she finally got the hint and ended it with a drunken bender week that resulted in a DUI.

Did she shoot him 4 times, twice to the head, and then turn the gun on herself a couple of days later?

If so, I got a sneeky suspicion I know who your cousin is.

Nope, my cousins are fine, my SIL's are both wack jobs.

I didn't read anywhere that he and his wife were separated (I didn't dig too hard, they may have been) which leads me to believe it was just a line ad he had no intention of getting a divorce.

I don't think it was $$ - read the story, I think it was the OTHER 20 y/o woman that he might have been in a "dating relationship" with.

I agree. I think she initially thought all of her troubles would be over when he divorced his wife and they moved in together. Then she finds out about another girlfriend and probably realizes that he's been feeding her the same line. No divorce, no life on easy street, now she's just one of at least two girlfriends. That probably did it.

I initially figured they'd had a fight and he'd told her it was over or at least there was no divorce in the near future and that that sparked the violence. But there no way he would have done that and then fallen a sleep on the couch - too risky. It's unfortunate that he was there at the time as there's a chance she might have just done her self in and that would have been that.
