Powerwashing siding
Can I do this this from the ground and point the power washer up, or will the get water under the siding? I have typical vinyl siding and don't want to get up on a ladder and point the nozzle down if I don't have to. TIA

Its fine to wash upwards. Have done it plenty of times. Do you think everybody rents scaffolding to powerwash their siding??

Vinyl siding is designed where water can not get under the siding from the lower side. You may be careful around the windows though, depeding on how they were installed and how new they are, they may leak some under the high water pressure. Just my .02.
You will have to get fairly close to the siding in order for the pressure washer to be affective. You might try some TSP powder in a bucket of water and wash it on first.

Apply TSP mixed in warm water and scrub before power washing. Wear gloves because prolonged contact will chew away at your skin.
Rinse lightly with the power washer using the widest pattern you can find.
First time power washers often become first time siding section replacement people real fast.

This is true. I am borrowing my brothers power washer (2500 psi - middle of the road as far as power). I was using it to wash the dirt off of my car tires - the lettering had become "dingy". So I start to smell a burning rubber smell, and the pressure is literally melting the tire at the very point of contact! If I had kept it in one place too long, it for sure would go right through the tire! I was quite impressed!

And work from the bottom up.

You should be safe, just be careful not to linger too long on the overlaps. The bottom section of siding panels have a notch on the underlying section of material to allow proper overlapping. You could get some water seepage in these spots. Otherwise you should be ok.
