I saw somewhere that Carragher said, "If the team don't go through, it's not the end of the world." DickRod, is that you?
This coming from the club whose most legendary manager coined the phrase, "Football is not a matter of life and death. It's much more important than that."

Lyon are through and Fiorentina are five points clear of Liverpool with two matches remaining. If Fiorentina win at home against an already qualified Lyon, the Reds are out.
Inter's comeback and Barca's continued troubles make that group crazy. HUUUUGE match coming up between those two. If Barca loses, or even draws, they are in serious serious trouble.
Bayern is hanging by a thread at the expense of Bordeaux and Juve.
Also, the French teams have done so well this term. Most people thought that the Germans would catch the Italians in coefficients this year, but it looks like that might not happen with how poorly they have played.
Who do you want England's keeper to be? Paul Robinson, Joe Hart, Ben Foster?
Secretly he wants an American, say Brad Friedel

You're crazy, if right now, England is in the WC Final and you have your choice between the two and you choose Howard. Bat. F'N. Crazy.
I like Timmy as much as the next USMNT supporter but he still has waaaay to many moments where he is "out to sea". Now he'll also have moments of brilliance like the Argentina game two summers ago or the FA Cup semi against Manure last year. But in a big spot I'd take Friedel and we'd be singing "Championes, Championes, Ole, Ole, Ole" til the early morning.
But really you couldn't go wrong if you picked any American keeper from say the last ten years, Friedel, Keller, Howard, Guzan, compared to what you've got

Big day tomorrow. I'm taking my boy (age 4) down to the English pub in Denver to watch his first England game in a crowd of rowdy idiots. He's excited, he's got his shirt, he knows a couple of players, and now I get to teach him how miserable and soul-destroying it is to be an England supporter!
Well, not really, it's a friendly. Who cares. But it will be a good introduction to the unrealtistic expectations . . . that will quickly turn into anger and frustration . . . next summer .
