1-0 Panama at halftime.
- Jimmy Conrad got knocked the eff out with some head-to-head contact.
- U.S. plays down 1 man for 3-4 minutes without being able to sub in for him.
- Finally get a sub in (Clarence Goodson) and on ensuing corner Blas Perez scores after some crap defending in the box.

Yeah, other than Ching's header to the post, you haven't created much up front.
And btw, Panama's national team is the biggest bunch of dbags ever . Blas Perez might be the most annoying player on the planet. He's like 6'2'' and built like a bull yet he flops every time he gets touched.

I love how the Panama guy took his shirt off and didn't get his 2nd yellow

It's mostly MLS players.
That was a very poor first half. Logan Pause was absolutely invisible.

This is not a junior team for the most part. Pretty much just bit players who may get a look at serious matches if they perform well.
Of the players on the field tonight the only one who will definitely get minutes in the World Cup next year (if healthy) is Brian Ching (because Bob Bradley loves him).
Robbie Rogers, Stuart Holden, and Chad Marshall are three guys to watch who may be on the WC team, and if not in 2010, are younger guys who would be expected to contribute in the coming years.
Everyone else on the field tonight is pretty much irrelevant to the near future of US soccer.
Edit: Arfabe already did a pretty nice explanation. My bad. I would pay attention to the players highlighted above though as they're the best bets to do something valuable for US soccer on this squad.

What Coach Baltosparty would do for the start of the 2nd half:
- Sub out Pause. Put in Quaranta on the wing. Slide Holden over to a more central attacking role.
What Coach Bradley will do:
- Stand pat and wait it out until the 75th.

Wow. The FSC announcers must have read my post. Just ripped on my line of thinking pretty much verbatim.

Some interesting decisions made by Archundia in this one.

It must be tough to be neutral when his lover, Felipe Baloy, is on the pitch.

This has got to be one of the worst ref'd matches I've ever seen. Let's hope we can do something in extra time. Will there be a shootout if both clubs are tied after the extra session?

On to extra time. 1-1 after 90.
Rogers has not impressed tonight. Would be nice to see him create something big in ET.
Also, I don't quite get why everyone clamors for Kenny Cooper. But go ahead and prove me wrong big man.

funny, the Panamanians are complaining about him too. He just happens to be one of the best referees in the world, and the best one in CONCACAF by far.
What decisions do you not agree with? He should've given the Panama guy a card after taking off his shirt but that's the only bad call I've seen so far.

Yes. PK's if tied after 30 more minutes.

I think he's a damn good ref. I would also say he's been fine tonight except that he doesn't seem to want to call a foul on Felipe Baloy, let alone give him a yellow, after the guy repeatedly flattens people. And anytime he is breathed on the other guy gets a foul.
With plays not involving Baloy, Archundia has been fine imo.

I know which plays you're talking about. It's exactly what ctspartan and I talked about.
I said they almost never call fouls on those plays here (plays in which the defender jumps and the forward doesn't), but he didn't believe me. I've seen Baloy do that 3 times and of course he didn't get called for it. FWIW, an American defender just did that to Barahona and didn't get called for it either.

Hey, I said he's great except for Baloy-related calls.
Felipe would have been able to double spear Kenny Cooper there with no foul at all.
