After reading all the repsonses, and still having last week's live-at-McDonalds bowel movement in my mind, I STILL want McDonalds right now. That place is genius.

I watched "Supersize Me" for the first time a few days ago, and all it did was make we want to go to Burger King for a Double Whopper with Cheese. So I did. And it was great.

So I guess my answer to the original poster is "no."

I concur... love the food... feel like crap after I eat there.

This week, McDonalds had the buy 2 Sausage McGriddles for $2.50 deal, so I caved and got it one morning.....

Totals:
Price = $2.64
Calories = 840 (from fat = 400)
Sodium = about 2,000mg

Tasted good, but the guilt was worse.

I probably went about 8-9 years without eating at McDonalds. Now I go there about once a month because my kids think it's a real treat. I will admit that McDonalds is a lifesaver when you're on a long car journey with kids aged 5 and 3 -- they don't call 'em Happy Meals for nothing.

I don't have a problem with the food at McDonalds, either -- it is what it is. If you go in expecting a gourmet meal, you're going to be disappointed, but it's all right for a quick and easy bite to eat.

I break down and have a sausage McMuffin with egg about 4 times per year. That is enough for me.

I probably eat four Big Macs a year - and the only regret I have is when they are gone. I do sometimes wonder at the logic of the Big Mac, Large fries and large DIET Coke value meal. I think I'mo eat a Big Mac for dinner tonight now that you mention it.

Tried a new 1/3 lb Angus burger at Mc Donalds last night. It was pretty good. Are those all over or at selected locations?

So true - I am ashamed to admit it but I know from first hand experience it is the absolute truth. My nine year old is as lean and strong as anyone, but he loves him a happy meal. The three year old thinks McDonalds is like a drive up chicken nugget ATM. You go to the window, you get the nuggets.

I've had their grilled chicken sandwich (without mayonnaise) before and it's actually decent. Of course, that's not really McDonald's food.

My GF loves the McD Fish Sandwich and there is a McD's about 1/2block from her condo, so we go there a fair amount.

I usually get the Crispy Chicken Roll-Up and it's pretty good,; the only problem is it s real small so to fill me up, I have to get two and the're ~$2.49/ea. A little expensive, IMO.

I've always wondered why people order anything but the "real" McDonald's food when they go there. You can get a better chicken sandwich or salad at approximately 100,000 other locations.

If you're going to McDonald's, you may as well go all out and crush your heart, intestines, and bowels.

THeir grilled buffalo chicken wrap is pretty tasty and I can't see those being TOO bad for you.
Haven't had a big mac in probably 10 years but they do sound good every once in a while.
BK burgers on the other hand are like crack to me (if I was a crackhead)

The Chicken Selects are better than any chicken tender I've had anywhere else. Very impressive for McDonalds.

A five minute McD commercial?

Advertising rates must be very low in Japan.

How many of you had this problem when you were younger? It never had that kind of effect on me in high school. Now it's about a 50/50 proposition (I'm 36 now). Interestingly, I've found other foods do it more regularly. Italian food, especially does it for me. And simple Italian food. Home made spaghetti, Chicken Parm from Carabbas. I'm not talking about clams or anything. But this is also a phenomenon of the last 6-7 years.

My conclusion: As you get older, more foods will run through you. And different bodies react differently to different food.

But I got no complaints. I don't feel sick when it happens. It's just a nice, relieving cleansing.

Basically, you can get healthier food at many other places if: 1) you want to spend more money and/or 2) you want to spend more time making it yourself. It's all about $ value, and time. It you're fine with spending an hour or paying $10 for lunch, then McD's isn't probably your place.

McDonald's is a fast service restaurant, that tries to be able to sell to everyone, not just someone that has plenty of disposable income. Their salads are pretty good, for a $5 grilled chicken salad. Can you get a better salad? Yup. For the price? Not too sure. Their coffee is pretty good in quality and price, compared to some other coffee places. Their new angus burger is pretty good, if you want a higher quality burger.

I agree though, eating fries and big mac's isn't too healthy. That's not McD's fault since there are other grilled chicken/salad options on the menu.
