I Heard a New Mad Dog-ism This Morning...
he was speaking with Eric Lacy and said (in reference to the MSU football team): "this team seems to have a continued continuity..."
you can't make this stuff up...

The guy has been on the radio for quite some time now - how is it possible that his grammar has actually gotten WORSE??
I rarely listen to him, but I tune in now and then after big games in the hopes of hearing some sports talk, only to hear the guy fumbling around for entire segments making absolutely NO SENSE. I almost feel bad for him it's so painful to listen to. I don't think there's a complete sentence or a coherent thought in the entire 3 hours he's on. It's like he's hopped up on speed and can't keep his concentration - everything is an incoherent sentence fragment using words incorrectly or just plain making words up. Then he spends huge chunks of time trying to make inside jokes about his producer, regular callers or Tim Staudt.
And don't even get me started on the "interviews." I feel terrible for his guests. He's basically a real world Chris Farley from The Chris Farley Show.
It amazes me that after all of these years he is still seemingly incapable of speaking coherently or conducting the basic duties of hosting a local radio program.
Phew. Rant over.

"We've got Tommy Izzo on the phone from his palatial, extravagential office in the house that Breslin built. Tommy, you're on with the Mad Dog. I know you seen all off the preseason projecturations and you know everyone is big on your team. Roe, Summers, Lucas - talk about them. Is Lucas the next Mateen Cleaves from Flint, Michigan? The next Flintstone leader on your team? Talk a little about your relationship with Mr. Cleaves. You even named your kid after him, I mean come on! Even C-Bush knows he was a warrior. He was like Russell Crowe in the colleseum. Tough as nails. Barbed wire stuff, Tommy. Talk about that. Real quick - callers on the line stay there. Break, C-Bush? Are we doing a break? Ok, ok - calm down C-Bush! Geez! Ok, 363-3333. 730am. 730am.com. Mad Dog Show. Caller 15. Caller 1-5 wins a wash from Cartouche. Caller 15 - Durrell Summers. 730am.com. Thanks for being on fellow paizanno Tommy Izzo. Ok, we'll be right back."

"well, thanks Minnie... ya know, I'll tell ya right now.. there are two kinds of people in this world.. those that have it and those don't not have it and I'm tellin' ya right now, you have it.
And don't you not believe that not never ever.
it's like Baron Von Raschke used to say, too many cooks in the kitchen is better than birds in the bush. I mean, I'd rather carve my forehead with razor wire than mess with Tommy Izzo.. ya know what I'm sayin'?
Allright, I want the phones to light up... our next guest is someone who won't be baggin' groceries at the L&L any time soon, that's for sure. I don't not care whether you're in Lansing, East Lansing or all points in between, there is a continued continuity with my next guest..
Brock - HIT THE MUSIC.. you might know him from his oatmeal commercials or riding a horse while trying to sell you medicine for diabetes.. you might know him for his lovely mustache.. I'd like to welcome right now to the show, Wilford Brimley... hello Wilford.."

The guy truley is the worst. I mean, Huge is awful, he has terrible opinions, but he at least speaks English. It is amazing, not only that Mad Dog is still on the air, but that after the other station he was on (I can't think of the number or call letters now) reformatted somebody else hired him. I mean, who is the executive sitting in his office saying "well, that morning show we have now is decent, but it would be so much better if we had Mad Dog Demarco!" So bad.

I'm convinced DeMarco actual pays the station to let him be on the air instead of vice versa.
Actually, rumor has it that the skimpy budget 730am runs on made paying for Mike and Mike and other premium ESPN content too expensive. I think the formula for these local shows is they'll put on anyone who can get sponsors to pay for them. I would be shocked if "Mad Dog" makes more than $30k/year.

Can somebody please explain to me how he has managed to stay on the air in some form for this long?

I dont have nothing to say about that. I mean that, I really do. I mean, come on, this stuff is outLANDish. I mean yeah, no. Im sitting here trying to copulate a few sentences together and I try to entertain the stinking....sigh, (thump on desk). I mean, if rome was built in the forest, would you still stinking HEAR IT??? I dont think so my friend. Now thats all I have to say........about that. I mean, just yesterday I was talking to my old friend Chuck Barkley and I was saying, "you know chuck, dr mike marshall, who was and is, by the way, just one part of the three way MSU combination in the World Series when He was pitching, and Garvey on first, and that other cat came in as a pinch runner, and yeah, Im not reading this from notes or anything, this is all from memory CHUCK". and I said "come on Chuck, you know you were tagging chicks like a mad man back in your days at auburn, I mean, yeah, no, not there there is anything wrong with that, but my good buddy Wayne Gretzky says that stuff like that is bad for the knees, and you know, well, you are kind of a big fella if you know what I mean, and I mean, and dog...talking about the big fella, I mean, what IS up with that golf swing, Imean is the little fella getting in the way OR WHAT????"
yeah Brock...awwwwww come on brrock, im in the middle of an interview here....
alright, were off to break. BROCK< HIT THE MUSIC!!!
