Cancel ATT Uverse?

Signed up this past week to switch from DirecTv to Uverse. Installer was to show up today between 9 & 11.

I'm debating sending them on their way when they show up and canceling the service. May just be the frustration talking though. I really didn't want them here during any of the games today.

It's not like the MSU game is on. I think you can handle 10 minutes without football when they switch it over. Uverse is awesome.

We had a terrible time getting U-Verse installed. Did you have another DSL provider before and you're switching your internet to U-Verse? If so, you have to cancel the old DSL yourself. The operator will tell you that they take care of it, but when no one shows up and you call to yell at them they say it's your fault for not cancelling your old DSL, and that legally they can't touch the NID unless the old line is removed.

We had to cancel our TDS Metrocom account and go without internet for a month because when we called them back they didn't have any installation appointments available for 30 days. I got fed up with it and started going up the chain of command, but it didn't really change much. The regional manager I spoke to was very apologetic, he said that they didn't foresee the huge demand they got in our area and didn't have the personnel or resources to deal with it.

I loved it once we got it up and running though, I miss it now that I moved out and all I've got is basic cable. Good luck.

My install took 3 hours, it's not just come in a plug a box in the wall.

Depends on the infrastructure of your house. Newer homes are much easier, apparently. Our installation took six hours, and would have taken longer if I hadn't run two ethernet jacks to all the bedrooms two years ago. My friend lives in a brand new house in one of the Lakeview subdivisions and his installation took 20 minutes.

blanch?

AT&T Uverse is sweet. My bro-in-law has uverse and once it's up and running, you'll love it. Sucks that it's being installed today but in the end it will be worth it.

My experiences with AT&T have been very, very painful. This includes, home phone, cell phone, and DSL.

IMO, AT&T is the worst company, EVER. I say that without hesitation. I have wasted hours upon hours of my life dealing with these ******s. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. If you have a problem, you're gonna end up talking to 35 different people.

They spent all day for two days straight hooking my neighbor up with UVERSE. Hope they streamlined the process by now

Man, I hope that isn't a problem. I have WOW hooked up right now.

Just got a call from their customer service, said installer was running "about an hour late, due to unforseen circumstances"

And about missing football.... I watch about 6 to 10 entire games every Saturday/Sunday morning live or on tape delay, so I like to start early. It's just my thing. I think the wife puts up with it because I don't watch any NFL games

No NHL Center Ice or MLB Extra Innings equals no deal from my perspective.

I guess if I lived in the local territories of the Detroit teams it would be a different story.

My "must haves", outside of the usual ESPN, comedy central, etc, was Versus and Big Ten network.

Versus and CBC will get me the red wings games, and the Tour de France.

Well, installer got here at 1:00, and just left. Cool guy, knew his stuff and would have been done a lot sooner, but the lines were screwed up at the pole, and there is a different guy for that.

He said his team of 3 guys had 5 jobs left today

From an old thread - I did tip the guy $20. He set up all the remotes, including the surround system, and gave me a few extra cables.

I think they have overflows in HD but, if you're just SD (like I am) you get no overflow channels. At least that's what it looked like for the Montana State game. I couldn't get it but I saw it was on their HD service (it wasn't the main game on the BTN that day).

Overflow basketball games are very rare or even non-existent on tBTN.

I don't see the overflows listed in the channel guide. Do they just show up on the game day?
