Iowa really reminds me of the 2002 Ohio State Luckeyes
Does anyone else see the similarities?
Both of these teams pull wins out of their asses and make plays at the right times. Not to mention a little help from the refs in key moments of the game.
I remember the O$U Buckeyes were coined the Luckeyes by a lot of people because they were finding ways to win. (A hailmary win againist Purdue, OT win against an awful Illini team, barely beating Michigan etc etc). And lets not forget the NT game againist Miami.
Their QBs are similar too. Both of them arent flashy and probably wont be NFL QBs. But they manage the game well and make plays when they have to.

Luck favors the prepared.
No need to hate.

We played scUM at home (with an OT win), play PSU at home, and don't play tO$U. I think we should be really careful before we start throwing the word "luck" around when describing teams...

No team has ever won a national championship without a dose of good luck. So far, this is Iowa's magical season. I have no beef with the Hawkeyes. More good luck to them.

They just need a scumbag RB and the similarities will be uncanny.
Haha, Craig Krenzel. Worst championship QB ever.

I know, good teams always get so freaking lucky. It’s annoying.

Good analogy. I personally think they remind me of the 97 SCumbag 1/2 title team. Great defense, adequate offense and won a bunch of nailbiters and came from behind a handful of times. Hope none of Kirk's boys are getting suits from agents.

Agreed. I keep saying that the thing that pisses me off the most about the Iowa game is that, despite incompetent calls by the refs (which I do feel had the potential to cost us the game, now we'll never know), Iowa played a good game that was almost identical to us, and in the end it just came down to one play. I can't hate on a team for that, especially when there are MUCH douchier programs + fanbases out there.
Good luck Iowa. I wish the calls had been better, but they weren't and it doesn't make you a bad team. We'll get ya next time.
