I still wonder how much longer the people of California will tolerate "abducted jogger reports" from the foothills around their major cities. They may want to rethink their mountian lion management plan. Any predator management that doesn't include some leathal controls will lead to more sad stories like this. Is doesn't take much to bring the fear back.
We had a bounty on yotes here in Michigan at one time. I bought a 223 savage several monthes ago with a little north woods predator hunting in mind. Quite a few right here in central MI.

They're all around our house too (we live in the Holland/Fennville/Saugatuck area). Not necessarily a problem but they sure sound freaky.....they sound like they are yipping, howling and fighting w/each other when they really get going. Depending on how the wind is blowing it can almost sound like they are right outside your window sometimes.

I hunt coyotes every weekend that there is snow on the ground. I've killed alot of yotes mostly in michigan but also out west. Most Michigan coyotes weight between 26 and 40 pounds. Once you remove the skin they are very skinny. I'm sure the western coyotes weight 10-15 pounds more but they are truly nasty. A big wild tom turkey weights 23-24 pounds so a yote only weights a few pounds more.

What a dog gone shame this is. This whole story just tears me up.

Totally going to Hell for this post. Then again I really don't care about folk music.

There, I feel better.
Take on a couple of coyotes and before you'll even know what hits you, your nuts will be torn off and your jugular severed. Better yet, go to a western national park and make wolf sounds at night. Your relatives will be notified why that's against the law.

Boy I really upset some of you with my "coyotes are small" take.....Gnossos were your parents coyotes? Folk singers? Coyote folk singers?

Anyway, sorry...didn't mean to offend your kin. Just knew that they were small animals.

None of this is remotely true. Funny, but not true.
