We're packin' it in. Will go see a high school playoff game and see decent coaching and honest effort and, believe it or not, fewer bonehead plays. Plus all of the players will be Eagles, there will not be Sooners and such mixed in with Spartans.

Call me a sunshine blower, but I'm not willing to write off the season yet. I could very well be wrong, but I think there is still something for these guys to play for. WMU is a winnable game, as is Purdue (depending on which Purdue team takes the field). If State can win those, then who knows about Penn State. The Spartans will be underdogs, no doubt about it, but IF (a big IF) State can go into that game on a two-game winning streak, I think they've got a shot.
By the way, Minnesota is not THAT bad by Big Ten standards, but I'm sure you'll disagree with me.

To Sparty68: Yes minny was that bad coming in. Last in Big Ten Offense, a QB with 6 TD passes and 11 interceptions coming in, the best palyer (per Brewer) on the bench and what happens?
Our matador defense made Webber look like an all-american same as it made Tater Tot look in Q4, Clauson look all game, NU's QB look all game and Dandy Dan from Central look all game not to mention wisky's qb and Iowa's qb on the last drive. Note that Dandy Dan didn't do very good against UA and BC, the only other majors that he has played.
Our defense has not been very good. It's time they stepped up to the plate.

Very empty, and will be a prime example why MSU cannot land an elite coach. They know the deal with MSU.

There are many Bronco fans who will come hoping for a CMU type replay.

This is a really interesting thread. Over 30,000 posts posits the question.
With some exceptions, people with over 1,000 posts say, I'm done, won't be there.
Almost all sub 1,000 posters say, I'll take your ticket.
I think some folks need to get off their high internet horses perched on the back lines and come down and get in the front lines with the 300. The losses won't hurt as much and the wins will be that much sweeter. Instead of dreaming of the magical season where it all comes together, you'll look at the Con Demos book and think, dang I remember that year. And you'll savor all of them.

Unacceptable. If you are going to boo fellow s, no matter how bad they might be doing, you should probably just stay home. Fine, be pissed, post nasty things about them on here, but if you are going to boo them? Just stay home and consider a hobby.

I might not be fond of the way that our team is playing right now, but I can honestly say that there is nowhere I'd rather be on a Saturday afternoon in the fall than on campus, in Spartan Stadium, cheering for my school. If we win, huzzah! If we don't, I'll read some of the meltdown threads, toss in my 2 cents, then get over it. Even when the team sucks, there is something about the atmosphere in East Lansing on a game day that is really something special.

It’s a shame to hear people say that the stadium will be empty next week. Is it really the win’s that make Spartan Stadium a fun place to spend a Saturday? Sure winning is great and its fantastic to walk down Grand River after a W but certainly there is more to it than that. I’ve seen the team lose many battles on the field but I’ve yet to see our fans lose a post game party!
Stay strong Sparta,
This isn’t Ann Arbor, we’re Spartans damn it!
-We’ll have the Pom squad out in front of the store next Saturday at 10:30am cheering for our school! Sparty on, win or lose!

Wow, all the bandwagoner are blowing my mind in this thread. If you're opting out of next week's game you should turn in your tix and never buy any again. Take a stroll down to the big hole in the ground, they love fans like this. Unfortunately I can't make the game (work) but I'd most certainly be there if I were in town.
Go STATE! Bronco busting time.
Hopefully I can make the bowl game.

I have season tickets, but . . .
have yet to make up my mind, but not because the team is JLish. It has to do with the University's decision to ban motorhomes from the commuter lot. I drive 600 miles one way to watch the games. Have always tailgated in the commuter lot with 15-30 friends and family.
Then, suddenenly, the U picks the Iowa game to force all motorhomes and other RV's into lot 92 for $30. And they allow no single cars.
According to campus police, that is permanent.
That kills the whole TG experience.
I am not eager to drive 1200 miles for that.

People whine about the cost of tickets, parking every time the team loses, which is more than most expected.
You want to have football on the cheap. See where that has gotten IU where basketball is the undisputed king.
If MSU wants to compete they have to participate in the facility and recruiting wars. You aren't going to be successful in the latter without the former.
MSU recently finished putting $12-14 million to build the Skandalaris Center and $3 million to improve the exisiting structure aka Duffy. MSU spent $64 million in '05 for Spartan Stadium improvements. Contrast that with $26 million umaa spent for the new Glick Football Building and $225 million to improve The Big Hole. Ohio State and PSU have spent similar amounts with Iowa and Wisconson still ahead of MSU.
So if you are that unhappy, don't go. But don't sell your season ticket for this season either. Stand on your short sighted principles and then don't renew next season. MSU would love to have your money but you don't like the price of admission to big time football that includes the necessary facilities to get there.

I will gladly take two tickets. Since some of you clearly think that the stadium will be empty and thus there will be no demand for tickets, I expect you to give me the tickets for free. PM me. Thanks.

Apathy will reign supreme next weekend.
I have had season tickets since '86 and this is the first time I have felt this way since '06 with JLS and '02 since Bobby Boy.
Not saying or suggesting MD is on the hot seat, like the other two were at the time, but the team is playing no different than those teams did.

I'll be there and finish my 7th season of home games, and I'll cheer and all that. But if you're asking me to be excited like it's Michigan week, or 2nd-half Iowa, it's not going to happen. A 4-5, 3-3 Big Ten team is playing a 4-5, 2-3 MAC team. Yaaaaaaay. To say the program is not improving would be a misstatement, and those that are parroting that should just keep downing their beer. It's like the stock market, things never go straight up or straight down. That said, the team regressed this season without question, and anyone saying they haven't also needs to go back to their beer.
If your main reason to come to East Lansing has been to watch stellar football, we've probably only seen you for maybe a season and a half in the past decade. Saying you're not going to show up is not that big a loss.
