I've family that going to SCum football games is like a religion.

This weekend they are considering ending their streak. They "might" still go tailgate but they just aren't interested in going in.

Boy do I love DickRod.

It's Michigan....winning football games IS A MATTER LIFE OR DEATH.....win or go home for the winningest football program in the country (as much as it pains me to say that)

At Michigan...football games are more than just a game....just goes to show you how clueless RR is about the tradition there...I love it.

If it's just a game, why are you breaking practice rules?

He sounds more like Johnelle everyday. If you look at the similarities between John L and Dickrod starting from the conference they came from to the botched hiring processes that got them hired to the results on the field...it's stunning.

Why can't a reporter ask this as a follow-up question...I mean come on, it's what we're all thinking!

"Rod...If it's 'just a game' why are some of your players and former players 'allegedly' speaking about extra practice infractions to the point that the NCAA has launched an official investigation?"

Rod's answer to that would either be a shfty round about way of saying "no comment" in a way that you know it's tearing him up....or a "Mike Gundy." I can see him doing a Mike Gundy before his time is up!

Ahh...but we forget....A John L team never won less than 4 games.

A previous poster had a good point that he is trying to get his kids to relax. I don't see it that way because you don't see a weekend go by without him reaming on his kids or his coaches. He clearly treats it more than just a game. You don't do that to the people you are leading in front of countless of people.

Second, he is trying to minimize the state of his football program right now. He is trying to downplay the expectations. It seems like he is lost. Completely lost. The kids could be giving up on him.

True. I probably should apologize to Johnelle for comparing him to Dickie.

So when does ESPN start showing UM IM flag football games?

If UM loses to OSU, I think they will fire RR.

He's going nowhere. Look at how much time Martin gave Radio.

D Rod will get 3, maybe 4 years.

Michigan Football is way different than Michigan Basketball. If they think the fans will start bailing on the program, they will have no choice but to fire him. Can't take that financial hit.

Most people know, of course, that it's not life or death in a literal sense. Hell, if JLS said this, it would be much more understandable as his wife was battling with life and death while he was coaching football.

But with Dickrod, this is just another "Get a life" speech, to denigrate the fanbase and basically scold them for caring whether he wins or loses. If he had said this in the context of some tragedy or near tragedy that he or player was facing, then fine. But saying it to minimize a loss?

I think that many of you are underestimating how delusional their fanbase is. Remember, last year they were a QB away from going 12-0 and their 4-0 start this season meant that "UM football is back, baby!!!"

The only way Dickrod gets fired is if the NCAA finds major violations.

who would fire him? the lame duck AD? he stays at least until they have a new AD. and that's a good thing (for the rest of the conference and anyone who enjoys Beverly Hillbillies type humor.)
