DickRod is starting to remind me a little bit of John Cooper at OSU in his treatment of the UM/OSU rivalry. Of course the difference between the 2 is that John Cooper was actually able to win enough to get into decent bowl games at OSU while DickRod is a complete moron.

BUT, if you're going to say that as a coach, you have to explain why you make $2.5 Million per year, more than 90% of Americans make in an entire lifetime. That seems like an awful lot of money to be paid for something that really doesn't matter a whole lot.
I say D Rod should make $500,000/year and ticket prices should be reduced to reflect the actual importance of the sport.
Can't have it both ways, RR.

I'd also add that he's not the one who should be making that observation. If your kid fails to graduate HS, you don't want to hear the principal saying, "Oh well, the world needs ditch diggers, too."

Did you see the second half against Illinois? The scUMmer....a.k.a. "Leaders and the Best"....completely quit and put up no fight at all. LIke their fans, they are front-runners....hot shots when ahead; dead in the water when behind.

Amos Alonzo Stagg once said to his team "t'were better you died as a child then any of you fumble that football.". Try telling him its just a game.

RR's tenure is just going to be a shinier version of JLS -- a lot of impressive stats and performances in September, with the team's tank totally on empty by November.

So does this mean that if Michigan does turn it around next year, no one (including pollsters) should pay attention, celebrate or care because to Rich Rod...It's only a game?

This is one of the stupidest ****ing things you could possibly say as a football coach making the kind of coin he makes at the school he's at.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's made similar stupid comments like this before as well.

Same with me. I was sitting there Saturday just loving life as Illinois rang up another one. I was listening to Fatbrand and Beckman crying on each other's shoulders--life was good.
Then, we totally **** the bed Saturday night. It's taken most of the fun out of watching UM's program swirling around the toilet.

Yup, thought the same thing. Those two might be helping each other clean out the office. Unless DickRod wins big next year, the new AD will can his ass so fast RitaRod will leave town before she has a chance to thrown on her makeup. The very next minute the new AD will be on the phone to Miles.
Strike the last sentence if Carr gets the job (and you read it here first).

Oh, it definitely applies to us. Before the season we were drunk on kool-aid, every game was winnable, and a BT championship was a sure thing.

So the question is, when are we going to learn from it? Clearly most havent yet. Oh well.

Every game WAS winnable. Pissing away 4 of them doesn't change that.

True. At this stage it's hard to look at each individual loss and make the arguments for how close we were without addressing the more common theme of losing close games.
I thought the monkey was off our back after beating scUM this year, but even then we let them score two touchdowns late in the game to force OT.
We just can't close out tight games consistently.
