Good luck getting in, though. Took me four years before a spot opened up for me.

Yes, facilities were cool. You learn some cool stuff.

Just based on what I know about sports I could get a 3.0 if I would have taken the exam before the class started, which most people here would do.

4.0 our first exam on about 10 min of studying.

Modern Asia was really quite cool. Was a while ago, don't know if the prof is there any longer.

And I just looked at the courses, modern asia is gone, and all of them appear to have changed towards a more nuanced "proper" Marxian worldview.

Oh well.

ISS 310 with Arbogast.

If he is still teaching this course take it, he is the man and you will learn some pretty good stuff.

Yep. I didn't take this class but I was a Geography major and Arbogast is pretty widely considered to be 'the man'.

Honestly, there are tons out there. See if anything sounds remotely interesting. I know it sounds cliche, but my ISS 300s were the easiest two classes of my MSU career.

315 with Hussain - he's really cool, but you do have to pay attention in class and do the readings. I didn't and got a 2.5.

There was a cool one that dealt with theater in the western world, but I can't remember what the number was.

Loved that class. I am bit of a military junkie. 4.0 the class. Went to everyone of them and loved it. Finally, something that was right up my alley. I already knew all of it. Rip was cool as well.

328 was pretty neat, and is taught by some great profs. I have heard a lot of good things about Stein if you can get into a class with him as well (I know he teaches ISS but not sure what level)

325 with Barry Stein. War & Revolution. Pretty solid.

Fun, if only for counting the number of "uh"s. Stein once did an "uh" inside another pair of "uh"s.

I also had the Civil War class that Dr. Rosentreter taught. It was a great class. He was a good professor and you could tell he was passionate about it. A couple weeks in a row we watched the outstanding Ken Burn's documentary on the Civil War. Dr. Rosentreter was a hell of a nice guy as well.
