Foles vs. Nichol
I don't know if this thread will stay open or not, but I'd like to have a civil discussion about which QB you'd rather have.
It's fairly obvious that Foles saw the writing on the wall and decided to transfer when Nichol came back to EL. Foles took over as Arizona's QB and the Wildcats haven't looked back since; Foles is putting up big numbers and the 'Cats are in the Top-25.
Even if Foles were still at MSU, I think it's safe to say Cousins would be starting right now. Whether or not MSU would be using its two-QB system with Cousins and Foles is anyone's guess. But do you think this ultimately will work out in MSU's favor -- now that you've seen both of them play -- or would the Spartans be better off with Foles on the roster and Nichol at OU?

I'm happy for Foles that he is doing well at Arizona. I'm not sure that he would have been happy playing 2nd string to Cousins here...not that Nichol probably is either, but then he chose to come back here too. Hindsight, as always, is 20/20 when it comes to these decisions and situations.

I truly think it's irrelevant as neither should be seeing the field over Cousins and I hope that is made clear to Keith in the very near future.

I would take Foles. Nichol just doesn't fit our system. A lot of the throws our QBs are required to make require and rocket arm and I dont think Keith has that. I was excited about foles when he committed I thought he would be Hoyers successor for sure.

next topic -
Would MSU have been better off if Brandon Cotton or Maurice Joseph hadn't transferred (or Lorbek) - what if Marcus Taylor hadn't declared early.....would MSU have another Final Four banner?
If Nichol hadn't transferred, would he be starting at OU?
VB - if your Mom & Dad get divorced, are they still your aunt & uncle (cuz I swear sometimes your questions are those of an inbred hillbilly)

With the Gunslinger we are 9-0. Foles will be the Pac-10 QB of the year.

All the crap that gets posted on this site every day, and you choose this thread to get high and mighty? It's just a topic for informal discussion -- you know, given the fact that this is a message board.
Nice comment, WF. Real classy.

it is a message board (or bored) - don't get your panties all bunched up by obviously sarcastic critical comments.

Foles is a starting qb for a BCS conference team, and the 2nd rated passer in the Pac 10.
Nichol is riding the pine for a 4-5 team.
Yeah, I'd rather have Foles...not to mention he fits the system better than Nichol.
But, who cares? Let's worry about who we do have. As long as Cousins stays healthy, I'm not the least bit concerned about the qb position. We'll have depth at that position for a few years to come. Hell, I'm more concerned about replacing Swenson than the qb position.

It's not an issue provided Nichol doesn't see the field in meaningful situations.

Nichol will probably transfer again after this semester. Can we ask for Foles back?

I'm glad we have Nichol, I think he will stay, and I hope we use him periodically in a run formation. He is talented, and he could win a game for us in the future if Cousins was injured.
It isn't Nichol's fault he was put in after TD drives, and Foles left for multiple reasons. I don't think he liked the climate.

Foles' was jobbed by Dantonio. Going forward don't ever forget how that was handled because there was truly a lesson to be learned. Actions always speak louder than words in life, and Foles' was discarded by this staff. They thought they were improving their lot bringing the Sooner in, but they were badly mistaken. Just desserts if you ask my opinion.

You're still bitter that your lover JLS was canned. You must've gone through serious mancrush withdrawal. But you can always go down to fayateville and wooopigsooie his old man balls.
Sounds like Foles knew he was gonna have a hard time passing Cousins. Best of luck to him at Zona, i hope he makes a lot of money playing football.

I don't know what's more bizarre: the fact that you were outed by the mods as being a resurrection of irish, or that you practically beg to get called out for lying about it.
