Sounds like Herzog is at risk for losing his time to Nix and Sherman.

ohhhhhh herzog.....

I hope I'm wrong and i've never been a basher of the kid. He's obviously had alot of obstacles to overcome (the weight gaining issue, and anxiety disorder) and he seems like a nice guy. But if you read between the lines here it looks like izzo already thinks nix and sherman are at least equals to herzog. Thats not good for a guy in his 4th year. If izzo truly believes this or even thinks one or both of them have already passed herzog, maybe it would be best for everyone involved if he considered graduating and not using his last year of eligibility.

What that means for this year? An Ibok type role where you use herzog for his fouls and height? The problem is ID could body up and defend a guy like pitman from texas because of his strength. Pitman would eat herzog's breakfast simply because he's still TO WEAK!

This kid has had an opportunity to improve but he still looks like the same guy we saw 4 years ago.

Reading between the lines, I wonder if the "decision in the next week and a half" that Izzo refers to is whether to shirt Sherman or Nix and that this depends if Herzog proves he can reliably perform for a certain number of minutes per game, like say 15? It would be disappointing if he couldn't...

I thought Izzo already said there was no chance of Nix or Sherman redshirting.

No ****ing chance anyone redshirts. 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000% chance.

* MSU is looking to use Draymond Green in some pick-and-roll situations, with Green handling the ball. Izzo couldn't think of another power forward he's used in that way, but he's never had a player quite like Green. It sounds like the Spartans are going to run a lot of stuff through him.
Wow.

Green is going to be a stud, the best passing big man we've had since Andre Hutson (and likely better)

The decision he refers to is who is going to be in the regular rotation, and the hint there is that Herzog may not be in it.
