LAKS wants some answers from the BT on those crap replays
Go get 'em, LouAnna. Here's a useful phrase: BULL****!

Good for her. SOmeone with a bit of authority needs to let them know they are blind as hell.

I'd hope the presidents of Indiana and UM show up as well. Minus well have all 11 stop in because every team (except maybe Iowa) has gotten the shaft this year from the replay.

If I were the president of Indiana, I would slam a fifth of Wild Turkey and then crash the meeting and try and start some **** - we may have gotten hosed a couple of times by replay, but Indiana has been raped.

I would be all behind this if programs at MSU weren't being cut and tuition wasn't going up by double-digit percents. LAKS is doing a great job, but you should probably have Hollis out in Chicago worrying about the replay while you tackle one of the biggest economic crises in university history. Just sayin.

She is the one MSU President during my lifetime that best understands what MSU sports mean for the university. She is a genuine MSU fan and a friend of MSU Athletics.

A 1 to 2 hour meeting in Chicago isn't exactly going to eat up all her time. As far as the crisis, what else is she supposed to do? The state is hacking away funding.

I get your point, but she can't just make money appear out of nowhere and "tackling an economic crisis" isn't quite like running a BoT meeting.
I agree with Trev...she gets it, what sports means to a University. Every time Florida, Texas, USC, etc...get featured on ABC or whatever, they get ample time to showcase their athletics, campus, facilities, etc. Can't get better exposure than that, and the only way to get those timeslots regularly is to be good.

A strong statement from the U Pres. to the BT is in order
While there are many pressing political, budgetary and administrative issues facing the U, taking a little time to say what hundreds of thousands of fans have been stewing over is very appropriate. Maybe the BT will move to a policy of public admission of errors with corrective action or at least an admission of their gross error and corrective action in the Minn./ MSU fumble recovery reversal debacle. If there is such an act of protest/information by the Pres. it will provide a basis to move fwd. without feeling like we have been trod upon once more by these little men in striped suits.

For the amount of money the University has invested in football, she has a duty to address this issue.

Hey dork, the issue isn't winning or losing, it's about officials deciding outcomes off the field.

The Big Ten was the first conference to implement a replay system. It worked well when it began, but in the past couple of years there have been some reversals that appear to be outside the authority given to the replay official. (Dell's TD at Cal [though not in the Big Ten], the infamous pylon TD, and the reversal of the fumble at Minny. There was also a missed fumble return for 6 against Bowling Green a couple of years ago that was negated due to a whistle on the field before MSU picked up the live ball.)
On the pylon call last year, we heard about how there was no phone in umAA's stadium box for Chicago to talk to Pylon Pete and tell him was full of crap on what he was trying to do.
When there is a blown call, there should be an explanation for how it came about. Was there a technical problem, a communication problem, or an incompetent employee involved? Find out what happened, and fix it so it is not repeated.
And maybe there are meetings in Chicago already scheduled for more important matters that LAKS is attending, and while there she decided to take in this replay review session as part of that.

I'm glad someone is willing to do it. After Saturday's shenanigans in multiple games, a high up from one of the schools had to say something about what happened. At least show someone the "indisputable evidence" that overturned the fumble in the MSU/Minnesota game and overturned the touchdown in the Indiana/Iowa game. A little accountability never hurt anyone.

While she is at it she needs to address all the BS calls that go in favor of the certain programs (OSU, UM). The same thing is happening in the SEC. Is the BCS money paying officials salaries?

I am happy to hear that LAKS is doing this; it's geat to have this robust level of support from the administration.
Semirelated sidenote, just out of curiosity, how much does a referee stand to earn for working a BigTen game?

The staff and the defender felt that it would be better to hit the opposing player with his purse.

In light of your concern for saving money I suggest you petition to shut down MSU athletics and we can dump the band too.
Why do we need to be spending tuition monies on freakin' band directors and staff in this time of financial distress.
Prez Simon doesn't live in a bubble. She is more aware than most of us what winning basketball and football teams do to help alumni donations and how there is a jump in applications allowing MSU to be more selective in admissions. She can be rightfully concerned with the production of football broadcasts too. Especially the way the BTN avoids replays compared to other networks.

That's exactly what my post said doofus until you edited it. MSU made the play that could have allowed them to win it on the field. It was reversed by some dude like you in the booth.
