It's Hockey Night Tonight! (v. #10 Nebraska-Omaha 11/6 ed.)

Recap: MSU played a terrific game of hockey last night in their 3-0 victory. The defense was solid, the power-play clicked twice, the energy was high, the offensive output was pretty darn good, play was throughly controlled by the green and white, and goaltending on both sides of the ice was excellent (though Palmisano was excellenter, which I'm sure is a made-up word).

Derek Grant and Corey Tropp added to their already-gaudy numbers last night, both picking up a goal in the winning effort. (Tropp also notched an assist on Grant's goal in the first.) Additionally, freshman Anthony Hayes found the twine for the second time in his collegiate career five minutes into the second period on Thursday night.

Along with Tropp, Petry, Walrod, Chelios and Krug added to their assist totals.

Goaltender Drew Palmisano was sterling, shutting out the Mavericks on 31 shots. That said, Comley alluded to splitting time between both of his goaltenders again this weekend, therefore, process of elimination dictates that Jarosz will likely start tonight.

Puck-drop tonight is 7:05p, and the radio broadcast can be found on 1240 WJIM-AM and online at spartansportsnetwork.com.

An online video stream will be again supplied tonight by Big Ten Network's website for a fee. (With guest color-commentator Jeff Lerg!)

Come on Spartan fans, get to the game tonight. We have a first place team, and Munn is only about half full. There are PLENTY of good seats available, so do yourself a favor and get out to support the team.

Seconded. This is a really good team that's playing an exciting brand of hockey, and additionally, is winning!

This program deserves and needs the support of the MSU community as a whole.

Right on

Let's send UNO back to Nebraska without their #10 ranking.

Anyone have any good MSU hockey wallpapers?

Keep your eyes on Brandon Richardson for UNO tonight. See University of Nebraska at Omaha Athletics - 2009-10 Men's Ice Hockey Roster . He's the new guy from the Indiana Ice, USHL that had some issues clearing NCAA eligibility. Big time player and he was buzzing all night last night in his first college game. Got a ton of ice time, too.

A note for the game tonight, UNO has made a change in goal. Starting for Nebraska-Omaha in goal tonight is senior Jeremie Dupont.
