Forgive me for thinking that an article about the death of a student would be OFF THE FRONT PAGE the day it happens.

I knew this young kid. I am friends with his family. All good people, all educated - doctor, sister's a nurse, older sis in MSU's MBA program. Great family. What happened is beyond tragic. How one cannot know they hit a person is beyond me - let alone drag the kid and not know. He was a young man, loved MSU, and a good person. This person who hit him may not have had time to react, but the way the person reacted after the hit shows the culpability of the car driver. Please pray for the family of the victim.

Police said the teen attempted to get out from under the bus and was struck by a white Cadillac and dragged several blocks. The teen did not have any ID on him.
Police said some of his friends went to the coroner's office to identify him, but due to his injuries he was unrecognizable.Watch: Student Killed After Hiding Under Smart Bus

No ****. Or if the driver even attended the game.

Definitely not saying that this young man deserved to die in that terrible manner, but running from security and hiding under a bus doesn't sound like someone who was in complete command of himself. Too much alcohol ?
The investigation of the vehicle that dragged him may indicate he was still crawling on the ground, exiting from under that bus as the car passed over him. It may not have been a front-end collision wherein the driver saw him. Can't pass judgement on the driver yet.

On the list of bad ways to go this has to be up there.
Hit then dragged and left to die on a Detroit street.

Tragic, and a terrible way to go.
In my hometown a gentleman was just killed a few months ago after being drug underneath a car for over 2 MILES! The sad thing is was that he was alive after the person that hit drug him left the seen, and died due to blood loss and being found to late.

Detroit won, 2-1, after a shootout.
|
Is it just me, or does it seem like awkward journalism to reference the score of a game in an article about a kid dying? After you read this tragic news, it just seems really irrelevant to mention the score of a hockey game.

Just found out he was a close friend of someone I know.
Really makes it a lot more real.

This is likely wrong at a number of levels, but, I thought to myself, "This is something Dick Rod would do and then try to lie his way out of it." I can't believe that I thought something like this, but Dick Rod is such a scum.
My condolences to the family of the MSU student.

Come on man. It's the Red Wings.
The only winning that city has.

Right b/c if you don't win the Stanley Cup you aren't a true winner. Anyways, before I get too OT, good luck to the family in dealing.
