Is anybody glad that MSU won today?

A lot of people were worried about this game, and if MSU had lost, the board would have been a total meltdown. But it was all for naught, MSU dominated, and you can hear crickets chirping. I mean, I know it's against WMU, but it's good to win, right?

At this point a win is a win...The CMU loss is the game that is going to haunt us in the end. We have a one game season next week vs the SPOILERMAKERS...It is the most important game in Dantonio's term.... must qualify for a bowl game before the last game. NO EXCUSES.

Yes i am happy for the win. A W is a W. Besides, the ex went to WM so that is a good reason to not like them.

Most of the good vibes from our loss have been diverted to celebrating dickrod's continued pissing on the SCum tradition.

All I need is ND to lose, and it's a great day to be a Spartan, in addition to us winning of course.

Why shouldn't people be happy? This is one win closer to a bowl game. Doesn't matter if it happened in September or November.

Agreed. The team can't rely on a "miracle" against PSU. We want a bowl game

I stopped for 10 minutes after the Iowa game, does that count?

I am and it was beautiful in SS

But when you play MAC schools you always have that nothing to gain feeling-we should win. It was good to see AL and what he brings. I still saw too many straight up the gut attempts. My hightlight was Brian Linthicum hurddling that guy after a long gain. I also noticed that in the post game show he represented very well.

I'm ecstatic we won and that we dominated the way we were SUPPOSED to. I think after watching Purdue play today, a lot of people are aware that a win today doesn't put us in a bowl. It doesn't give us a gauge on how we will perform against Purdue - they are much improved from the beginning of the season.

Its hard to be too excited because most of the nation didn't even get to see the game on BTN. Down here is was the UM PU game. I am waking up tomorrow morning to watch the game, and I'm happy that we won. But what does beating the crap out of Western tell us about this team? Nothing really. Like others have said, if anything next weeks game against Purdue is that much more important.

It's not like I'm jumping up and down, but I'm happy they won. They beat WMU in a convincing fashion and looked good.

Now, hunker down and get ready for PUR-DON'T!

Of course we are happy, but a team predicted to be 3rd or 4th in the conference obviously should win a game like this with ease.

What a team is predicted to do and what they actually are often two different things. I for one was very happy that we stepped on an opponent's throat finally and didn't let up the gas. That kind of killer instinct is very key in the coming weeks.

I am pretty happy with the result, but was pretty fired up at the end of the third quarter. All the wins (except MT St. I didn't watch while first child was born) have felt like we lost the game. We ended the game negatively in the Illinois, NW, WMU and scUM games we had the win locked up and we stopped playing aggressively. That is not so much on the players as it is on the play calling. We HAVE to go for the jugular, we have experienced what the conservative work the clock offense has done for us. Also it is blatantly clear that Kirk Cousins should be on the field for every offensive down(with exception to blowouts and injury). I am sick of being pissed about a win.

Just my two cents....Does not mean everyone should feel this way but I know I could have cared less about this game, or the Central game and Montana State. And I know we are not the only ones scheduling this way but just more that college football is becoming a travesty of meaningless games surrounded around 3 to 4 meaningful games during the season.

Our non-conference scheduling is a abysmal and seems it is going to be that way for the next 10 years. Hollis/Danantonio have gamed the non conference schedule to have Div II school, 2 Directional Schools (See celebrate the state) w/ ND. This should on PAPER give us 3 automatic wins a year.

Division I-FBS teams cannot play Division II teams.

Michigan State Spartans Football Future Schedules

While I won't disagree that the non-conference schedules for the next two years (with the possible exception of ND and CMU in 2011) don't really look like much of anything, South Florida (2013/2017), West Virginia (2014/2015) and Alabama (2016/2017) say hello. Besides, is there anything wrong with trying to keep some money in state for some of the directional MI schools? Additionally, we have one more non-conference opponent to schedule in 2012 and 2013 yet. That could either be a cupcake or a contender. It all depends.

Another Trifecta!

We won, I'm happy over this expected achievement.

The rest of the trifecta: umaa losing to Second-place Bob's alma mater and nd losing to the Navy.

With that combo, its almost a perfect weekend.
