Ehhh, that one was borderline. Tough call for the replay official to make. Typical case of either call he makes is "wrong" so he went with the call on the field - - didn't confirm it, just went with it. I think that's how the system is supposed to work.

looked like a pick to me.
Control and a toe tap from his right foot

The square is seldom if ever cool ... He is "not with it", that is, he doesn't know "whats happening." But if he manages to figure it out, he moves up a notch to "hip." And if he can bring himself to approve of what's happening, he becomes "groovy." And after that, with much luck and perseverence, he can rise to the rank of "cool."

dirt came off the ground (in bounds) a while after the guy caught the ball...

I agree with the control, I just wish there was another angle to show the toe tap. It was hard to say definitively that it was in bounds. Trust me, I want to see Bama lose as much as anyone else, but I'm just not sure, so I would err on the side of the call on the field.

Look, you very well might be right, but I don't see it as nearly as egregious as any of the B10 ones have been this year. That non-call on the hands to the face is awful though.

Is it time for the NCAA to do something like the NHL and have a central location (war room) that also reviews plays?

That looked like a pick to me, but it really could've gone either way.

It was in. Total crock.
What I wish, is that the refereee would give some further explanation on the mic as to what the ruling was. Not just "ruling on the field confirmed." - WHY was it confirmed?!
Know why they don't? Because they know that opens them up to interpretation and critique. How can the replay guy say he was not clutching that ball and continued to hold it as he got Both feet down? If he is basing his call on that, why not state that to the audience and spectators who have a vested interest in the outcome. Say; "Receiver did not have firm control." or some sch*t. When everyone who saw that saw a firm grasp. No slip of the ball, AND both feet down. The left was WAY down inbounds. It made a divot in the grass. And Danielson also got it right that the right toe did indeed touch!
LSU got hosed.

A guy at the game said something similar to me today. You aren't that guy are you? Section 16? But anyway, I'm assuming you mean at the conference level right? The sheer volume of games would prevent a nationwide "war room."

Because that is not what is asked of the replay official. The officials said the pass was incomplete, what he's supposed to do is "confirm the call." (meaning he feels the officials made the correct call); "the ruling on the field stands" (meaning, they didn't see enough to overturn the call); only when the overturn a ruling is an explanation offered.
If the officials on the field want to explain their own calls when they make it, that's kinda their prerogative, but for replay calls, that's all they have to say.

And in this case, they did NOT confirm the call, it merely stood.

No i wasnt at the game. But i think the NCAA can manage a "war room" for all the game. Conference officiating has to go. A conference "war room" would prob have the same idiots that run booth replays at the stadium.
