Hope he's ok. Doesn't look good right now. Been on the field for close to 15 minutes after scoring a TD. On oxygen, motionless and looks unconscious.

Not good at all. I just saw the replay, his posturing is a bad sign.

Looked like he landed more on his shoulder, but he was airborne big time and came down hard.

oxygen = not good

typically means he's lost the ability to move his muscles that control his breathing....

hope he turns out to be ok

Really hope he's ok, but that was one of the longer and more intense on-field medical procedures I've seen. Fear that something might be really wrong.

Amazing athleticism on that play to get himself in that position. And while that was obviously a really hard fall watching it live it didnt look like it was that awkward of a landing. But he was immediately out cold. Hope things turn out alright.

I feel bad for the kid...all I have heard is he is a good kid. Problem is that this idea of kids that think they can just hurdle everyone is playing into the situations that are creating this problem. This injury could have been avoided had he not tried to leap over the D. If you don't get in fine...at least you live to play another play...this was a bad decision.

That said I hope he is ok but it looks REALLY bad. I am going to call my girlfriends dad who is actually a On Field Director at Cal-Berkley to find out if he knows anything.

Jahvid Best is a hell of a talent and from what I've heard he's also a class act. I hope he recovers quickly.

Yeah- You could see it in his eyes when he landed and his helmet flew off.

Quite similar to what happened to the Iowa receiver after Ware hit him. In both cases the collision of helmet/neck/shoulder with the turf caused their concussion.

Unfortunately Best, by leaping had even further to fall to impact the ground. Hopefully he will be OK.

That was awful.

Why did they have him covered? Looked like they were carting off a dead body.

Best of wishes to him.

Probably to keep him warm. It prevents shock that way (I think. I'm no doctor)

Worst case scenario he could have lost control of his functions.

The sideline chick said all she was told is that "they've taken him to the emergency room for observations".
