10. I can eat two brats in 21 seconds. Sorry, didn't really have a 10th thing. But it's true.

Rexrode is a state treasure. Its a damn blessing that he's a MSU fan because there's no reason why the LSJ (or any MI paper for that matter) deserves to keep him.

I'll agree with that. Rexrode is good.

Are you kidding? The sports writers that cover MSU are atrocious.

I couldn't agree more. Rexrode is one of the best sportswriters in the state, certainly one of my favorites. (I'm also a fan of Lynn Henning and Michael Rosenberg, the rest I can take or leave).
I always make a point of listening to Staudt's radio show at 10:00 on Wednesday morning just to hear Rexrode's intelligent commentary on MSU sports.

9. It was a valuable player development day for MSU, rare in November. Trenton Robinson got a whole afternoon at safety and did the job. Ishmyl Johnson got a lot of snaps. Chris Norman saw a lot of action. John Deyo and Jared McGaha worked with the No. 1 offensive line. Keith Nichol and Dion Sims hooked up for a touchdown.
|
I had noticed that it seemed like an awful lot of players who normally don't see action played, particularly in the 4th Q. So, I looked it up and there were 65 players who were on the participation list; most likely that was everyone or almost everyone who dressed for the game. Good for development and also reward for all the hard work they put in day in and day out in practice. Hopefully will pay some dividends down the road.
also hope their families were in attendance so they could share in their pride.
nice job gents!

Nice column but I disagree with the BCS predictions. The b11 will end up with at least 3 ten win teams. OSU, Iowa, Wisconsin, and hopefully not PSU.
The BCS loves 10 win b11 schools and I think the conference sends two to those games.

I'd rather see the Spartans play Kansas or Nebraska than get blown out by The U.
