DickRod is worse than JLS. At least JLS didn't throw his players under a bus or cheat.

scUM would KILL IT in the MAC or D-II
Too bad IU got cheated out of a W or they would finish 0-8 in the B10

At least John L had one decent season (2003: 8-5 record, bowl game, Big Ten Coach of the Year) before things went south.

The vote is pending but JLS is leading at the moment.

1) JLS took the best players from BW and had a good season...RR tossed the best players off the team.
2) JLS cleaned up the program NCAA wise, getting palyers to class and tossing those who didn't behave...RR has dirtied up a program that was considered one of the best in the NCAA
3) JLS slapped himself to prove a point and was vilified for doing so...RR cried when he was accused of cheating
4) JLS (so far) won more games than RR

There are certainly a lot of similarities. Both built up programs with the spread offense in the Big Least, which aren't translating well to the Big Ten. JLS appears to be the better coach, because at least he was in games, just didn't have depth to win some close ones at the end. SCum's D has absolutely sucked the last 2 years.

Let's see:

Great OOC records? Check
Major struggles in conference play? Check
Dreadful Octobers and Novembers? Check
Overreliance on the spread and outsmarting yourself? Check
Miserable defenses? Check

The major difference is that JLS took over a team that went 4-8. RichRod took over a team that had beat Florida in the Capital One Bowl.

No, Dick Rod is not JLS.
JLS has way more class...
Even though his coaching came into question, I've never heard a bad word spoken about his personality. In fact, most people would say that JLS was a stand up guy. Dick Rod.....not so much.

BTW, if your looking for some comedy today check out the Mgoblue board. The yellow bellies are in a tizzy!

Agreed.

As bad as he turned out to be, there were moments up to the 05 OSU game where it looked like JLS might be on to something.

D-Rod was supposed to take a good program, one that won 11 games in 06-07, and had a bowl win over Fla. in 07-08, to the next level.

Honestly D-rod right now looks more like what Millen did to the Lions: Playoff near miss to 2 wins in short order. His big advantage over JLS is recruiting to UM, but I don't know how long that will last the way things are going.

MSU has gotten better as the season has went on. JLS/RR have gotten worse.

Idiot.

No worries - I figured that's what you meant, but thanks for giving me a chance to post that picture.
