Off-topic So the boss asks servers to collect customer e-mail addresses...

and they don't. So the boss gets upset. REALLY ****ING UPSET.

(Lots of profanity in here.)

Sweet jesus.

That guy needs to calm the **** down. Does it never occur to him that they may be trying to meet his ridiculous demands, and the customers may say "No, I see no reason to give you my e-mail address."

I'd get in contact with some lawyers. That may constitute verbal abuse right there.

If I were working there I'd have no problem pushing the customers for emails....it's not my business who gives a crap if they walk out, right?

I worked customer service for a company and they severely got on yer **** if you didn't sell or try to sell to sell to customers. And obviously people don't like to do it because it awkward and annoying. But really why should it be? You represent the company, what do you care if you come off as a jerk?

If I were a server I'd throw down pieces of paper on the customers and say "I need your emails before I can take your orders". Then give them time to fill them out, come back and say "okay, lets see those emails".

It's obvious Vadim doesn't realize people don't want to give out their emails. So the servers should act like stupid monkeys, do what he wants....and watch the patrons head for the door.

It's actually fun having carte blanche from a company to be a total a-hoe. It's like you get to be a **** not only to annoying customers but it screws the employer as well.

Maybe he should have a fishbowl for people to throw their business cards into (to "win" a free meal) or start a online club with email discounts, like every other restaurant that wants to collect email addresses.

Vadim should go table-to-table greeting guests and asking for addresses
