You conveniently ignore the fact that Stafford is playing on an absolutely horrible team, one that is 2-27 over the last 2 seasons. If you don't think that's a factor in his performance than you aren't being fair.

If Stanton went to Eastern Michigan, you wouldn't think this. So STFU.

Exactly. The Lions are historically bad again this year, have one good WR (who is consistently injured), little in the way of a defense or running game, and a bad O-line.
Manning didn't have that much around him in 1998, but that team was good enough to go 13-3 in 1999. I'll bet my entire reproductive system that the Lions don't go 13-3 in 2010.

Folks, yesterdays game was a microcosm of Stafford's history. Look what he did for Georiga against MSU football team in the first half last year. He was horrendous. In the second half, he was great. Same thing this year. Either he's great or he totally sucks. I'm more in his camp than I was earlier but not sold on him.
Stanton's stats probably may of been better than Staffords but management is not going to sit a 41 million dollar investment on the sidelines. Stanton needs to get out of Detroit and find a team where he has a chance to play, Stanton's problem has been staying healthy.

I bet GG1979 thinks they can get that for Stanton.

Stafford is have a respectable season with a very bad team. Sanchez on the other hand is having a bad season with a respectable team. There is a huge difference.

He also played yesterday's game with a separated shoulder.

Stanton is 3rd string ON THE LIONS.
So I'm sorry to say this, but he sucks. A starting QB on the Lions would be at best 2nd string on any other team, most teams 3rd string. Stanton really has no business being in the NFL. I know people get upset if I say anything bad about him, but he just isn't that good. He wasn't that good in college, he threw a ton of picks and could never stay healthy for 5 minutes.
Brian Hoyer was a better college QB and now a better pro QB than Stanton will ever be.

People thinking Stanton should get a shot are stupid fans blinded completely by their love for former MSU players. If Stanton played at EMU or CMU, you wouldn't be wanting him in there in place of Stafford. You would realize he's a guy who makes 2 reads AT MOST before running. That's what he was in college and that's what he is in the pros.

It was a rant. He needed to vent, and is now gone, leaving us to deal with what he left behind.

Brian Hoyer is a QB with good physical tools that fell into an ideal situation. That doesn't change the fact that he was an awful college QB. Just awful.

Wow. And the Patriots (fairly well known for spotting QB talent in the rough) cut two QB's with NFL experience, one with experience in their system, the other with NFL starting experience, to keep him as their sole backup to Tom Brady as Brady returned from major knee surgery.
Maybe he will be a better NFL QB than college QB.

Congrats on letting everyone know that you don't know dick about sports. No one said Hoyer was all-world, but he was a decent college QB.

You are forgetting that Smoke944 knows more about quarterback development than Bill Belichick.

No problem. I understand how you could make a mistake since Belichick has developed a Hall of Fame QB and another top-10 QB.
