How many of you RCMBers plan on going to the Alamo Bowl?

We fully expect the players parents and the administration and the band to go. That's about it. Sign in if you plan on traveling to the bowl game. I hear the city and riverwalk is great. Is that enough to lure you to the game?

Never been to Texas and I hear San Antonio is great. It's all going to come down to cost of tickets, airfare, hotel, etc. If anyone knows of any good deals, please let me know.

This will be the first MSU bowl game I am skipping since the 1997 Aloha Bowl. Went to SA in 2003 and loved the city, but didn't like the game or venue. Wake me up when we are back in Florida or Southern California.

Went in 2003 and am on the fence about going this year... San Antonio is fun and I'm sure the Riverwalk would be a blast for New Years, I'm just not sure I want to fork over the coin to make the trip.

No doubt, it's tough to pull the trigger on that kind of coin when we're talking about a 6-6 team mired in off field issues that will likely get slaughtered. I view it more as an excuse to take a vacation and check out a city I've never been to.

Was thinking about it, but all my roommates want to go to FL for spring break and I don't have any money even if I could get anyone to go with. Oh well, I guess I'll go next year.

San Antonio is an awesome city, and the Alamodome doesn't have a bad seat.

I'll be making the drive from Mexico (about 8-9 hours) if my brother comes with me. I'm not going alone.

Not I...can't do it this year. But I know a bunch of A&M fans in the area going to the game to heckle Texas Tech.

I guess one nerd free bowl game is too much to ask for. Oh well, bring on the Gomers but tell them to leave their fat girlfriends at home. We don't want them to make us look bad on tv.

I would love to but it is too expensive. The last two years to Florida were affordable, but it looks like flights to SA are way more expensive, especially considering I spent a good part of 2009 unemployed and am just now building back up some savings. Just can't justify it this year which sucks because I have heard San Antonio is great.

As you probably know, we can't stand Michigan and correctly perceive them as arrogant and delusional. How do TT fans view Texas, Baylor and Texas A&M?

I went to the Alamo Bowl last time MSU was in it and had a great time...but it seems airfare is much more expensive this time around...cheapest I could find was $600+ out of Flint Bishop...I'm still debating if I should pull the trigger or not....

I thought Texas Tech was the team that had the "fat little girlfreinds"???

Round trip DTW - San Antonio, Jan. 1 - Jan. 5 is $316 + tax (I used Jan. 5 because it was cheaper than leaving the 3rd or 4th).

$330 from DTW to AUS. San Antonio is a fun town. You are also close enough to party in Austin on 6th Street

You can't be serious. Bunches of A&M people are going spend $60+ for a ticket (plus parking), to go and yell at another team they don't like?

I guess "cost" is relative as finding someone to watch kids for 5 days (and take one to school) while also taking off work does not make that flight that inexpensive.
