Hoops Are they going to move up the game @NU?

I know they have done this in the past but has there been anything official as to whether they are going to move up the basketball game vs NU so it doesn't conflict with the Alamo Bowl?

Doesnt the Alamo bowl start at 9? If it does, I dont believe they would conflict. The Northwestern game is scheduled for 6:30.

IIRC we have done it for other teams in the past. I think we moved up a game with Minny to avoid a conflict with their bowl game.

NU game: 6:30
Alamo Bowl: 9:00

Unless the game goes into triple OT, I think you'll be alright...

if you stay for the whole NU game, you will probably miss the first quarter while commuting by train back into the city. however, the question is... what exactly will you be missing

I'm just assuming there will be an army of MSU fans invading some crappy "bar" in Evanston to watch.

Yes, however that was a home game for minny. If it their bball game was on at the same time as the bowl game their arena would've been EMPTY. Minny decided to move up their own game and MSU agreed.

THe MSU-NU games is @ Evanston. So really it makes no difference what MSU wants, NU ain't gonna change because that is likely to result in less people attending if the time is changed.

Nice! I get to spend 6 hours at the sports bar. A day of paradise for those of us not going to either game.

The game is on a Saturday, so I don't see how changing the time would affect attendance either way.

If anything, more MSU fans might come if the game started earlier. As it is, the NU students are gone and I'm guessing it'll be overwhelmingly MSU fans in attendance anyway.

All of this is moot, because the basketball game isn't going to conflict with the football game anyway.
