Dude had major health problems yet did not cut back on the long hours, nicotine and caffeine consumption. Had to known something like this was coming.

The Deadliest Catch Facebook page announces this, and it says:

"100 People Like This "

Not sure I could bring myself to click that.

Plus Jake (Deckhand on Northwestern whose sister died last season) is now going through the fact that his father is missing. They found his father's truck abandoned in a logging area in a remote place near the home.

Yeah, that's a Facebook pet peeve of mine. Too many people use "like" as "I can't think if anything to say." So-and-so's testicles exploded..."like."

Sucks for Captain Phil. After watching him down red bull, coffee, and cigarettes like they are going out of style, his health problems are, although unfortunate, not surprising.

I remember last season when Sig was serious about quitting smoking. He lasted 17 minutes.

well at least it was in port and not 300 miles off shore....best of luck to him - getting treatment as quick as possible is the key to overcoming strokes, hopefully he can recover enough to enjoy life.

What else is there to do on a ship out in the middle of nowhere? Give dome to other crew members?

I can imagine that quality of woman that gets action when those fellas get into port.

They'd probably nail a couple of Maize Rage ladies

It's part of the mentality of someone in a dangerous business. It seems that life to them is about the thrill of taking risks. A person like Phil and the others on the show would be bored working in an office and eating sensibly. The bad part is they don't have long lives.

When you say "those fellas" are you talking about fishermen in general, or the guys on this show?

I'm pretty sure the guys on this show can nail way hotter chicks than most of their non-reality TV show counterparts.

From the link in my initial post...

Phil Harris suffered a stroke while in port off-loading from the F/V Cornelia Marie. He has been transported to a medical facility and is receiving the best care possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and we will make more information available as we know it.

I was thinking the guys on the show. They may be able to get hotter chicks, I just don't know whats available at those arctic outposts. Something similar to a Maize Rager

If you think Red Bull and caffeine are the only stimulants on those boats you are kidding yourselves.

Good luck to him.

I know a guy that did that job, or one very similar. He likes to party a lot but he told me that they were always very strict about what you bring on the boats.

No alcohol, drugs, weed, nothing. You could not sneak something on.

He told me story about making nasty ass moonshine with fermented apples on board because some were so hard up for a snort. Some guys on the job who were regular drinkers otherwise would go through nasty withdrawals for the first few days at sea.
