DETROIT-- For only the third time in the last 15 years, No. 5 Michigan State will not be advancing to the Great Lakes Invitational Championship game. Michigan Tech (7-8-2) snapped an 11-game losing streak to the Spartans on Friday as they skated to a 4-1 victory at Joe Louis Arena in the 43rd meeting of the holiday tournament.
