I think peeps may be over-reacting. Perhaps the reason the right is not using this more, is because the right base would become mobilzed to support..... Biden. .
This event suggests that Biden may not be all that smart, however that was never an impediment for the current occupant of the WH.
In any event, they guys to look out for in '08 are Richardson, Warner, and .... OBAMA.

Interesting that an extreme liberal would excuse one of their own, yet would be all over a republican if a republican said this.
It's ok, Dell...we didn't expect more out of you or other liberals. To suppose that republicans would come to Biden's support is delusional and disengenious...but completely expected.
It's amazing that Libs on this board aren't up in arms over this. Each one of you Libs that fail to speak up about this in outrage deserve mention in Fletch's "blind faith" thread. It's not easy throwing stones in glass houses, is it.

Launching the Swift Boats for 2008 in 2006.
Right out of the Karl Rove handbook. Biden must have looked strong in some early poling.

WCS, please refer to one of my posts where I have "been all over" others for similiar comments.
Since you will not be able too, could you please just STFU. Thank you.
Your faux outrage is pathetic, I can only imagine what you would be saying if Jon Kyl had something similiar.

Corporate ownership does not hold editorial control over the news organizations. This is proved by the far-left bias that prevails, as opposde to alleged "conservative" companies like "GE" and Disney, which itself is tilted way over to the left. So that argument really isnone. The ownership demands only that the news produce a profit, and in Murdoch's case he ensures that we get a straight view at the news minus the traaditional left bias. Thas this bias has become such astandard in the news gbusiness is why anyone claims that there is something unusual about Murdoch's operation.

Biden just continues to stick his foot in his mouth on this...
Two major offenses he committed:
1) Claiming the comments were taken out of context. The video is clear on this and it is obvious that they could not have been taken out of context. He should have admitted to being a racist and acknowledged his mistake, but he chose to bury himself either further.
2) He demonstrated his racism by excusing his racism with more racism..."I could have said that 40 years ago about walking into a delicatessen and saying an Italian accent in my state," Biden added. My God, this guy is a pure racist at heart and regardless of the era, he would find a way to negatively stereotype people of other races or cultures.
Immigrants from India and Italy are tremendously eager to assimilate and become valuable members of the US culture and society. How this guy can continue to mock immigrants is beyond me.
His best friend in the senate is probably the Grand Poobah Bird...they probably make racist jokes about all of the other minorities in the USA.
This just aint right...

Yeah, I wondered how he could say that too. I mean, it's C-Span. Don't they just keep their cameras running? It's not like they do a bunch of fancy editing or anything. Granted, the video is only a clip, but it does seem to be the beginning of the clip.

Looks like Obama isn't worried about carrying the important Indian Convenience Store owner demographic.

Yeah that's right, look the other way when its your guy, but the LIBS curcified Virginia Senator Allen's comments and it cost him his Senate seat.
Yet again GR, no principals.

Funny, the video link is down. I'm sure Karl Rove as a copy of it in his basement somewhere.

Well Dehannen, what are your principals?
You have some. They are wrapped up in secret government, wild west economics, no taxes on anything, limiting educational opportunities to the wealthiest Americans and wars as long as your ample backside isn't ever on the front lines.
Your love for the folks who treat you like hired help is laughable.

Come on GR, I'm not going to let you define me. My principals are usually pretty clear, unless I'm trying to be a sarcastic ass.
FTR, I used to like Biden. I liked him before, when you could complement your political opponent without losing your base. He used to be a statesmen. Now he is just another slimy politician.

As I was hoping for and working for McCain in the primaries in 2000. But McCain's 180 to the Bush2 folks make him as unpalatable to me as Biden has become for you.
I knew the country suffered from Clinton fatigue and I saw the Bush family becoming the royalty of the GOP. McCain represented a chance to stop the Bush power grab. He failed and unfortunately has joined them this election cycle to the point of having Bush2 people running his campaign..

Joe Biden is no racist. Look who he was cheering on at the Bejing Olympics:

Biden comments.
Quote:
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
""I've had a great relationship [with East Indians in America]. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian Americans - moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking." ---------, speaking to Indian-Americans.
