I suggested that this initial thought by WCS was inaccurate as it wasn't a situation where the Senator was worried about being condescending or mean-spirited. I suggested that it wasn't as if he was being intentionally racist, and that the home of racism is where it actually comes from the heart without much involvement from the head.

I'm not giving the benefit of the doubt to Biden at all. I think racism is in its true form when it's as "honest" and without thought as this. He saw zero harm or offense in this when he said it. That's not a compliment. He likely sees it now, and will change his language. But will he change the bias that drove the comment?! Hard to know...

Such unitended racism reveals the institutional nature of such views, and whether they come from the left or right really doesn't matter. It's wrong. I think I've been consistent in expressing that opinion.....

Biden knows he's on camera, and he happens to let a little anti-India comment slip out. It's slimy and shows poor character, but I think it was intentional. He didn't insult any major voting blocks, just a nationality that many people are bigoted against. He's courting the 'necks.
