All you lefties against the patriot act

should really love this.

Thanks to guidelines issued by the American Academy of Pediatrics and supported by the commonwealth, doctors across Massachusetts are interrogating our kids about mom and dad’s “bad” behavior.
We used to be proud parents. Now, thanks to the AAP, we’re “persons of interest.”
The paranoia over parents is so strong that the AAP encourages doctors to ignore “legal barriers and deference to parental involvement” and shake the children down for all the inside information they can get.
And that information doesn’t stay with the doctor, either.
Debbie is a mom from Uxbridge who was in the examination room when the pediatrician asked her 5-year-old, “Does Daddy own a gun?”
When the little girl said yes, the doctor began grilling her and her mom about the number and type of guns, how they are stored, etc.
If the incident had ended there, it would have merely been annoying.
But when a friend in law enforcement let Debbie know that her doctor had filed a report with the police about her family’s (entirely legal) gun ownership, she got mad.
She also got a new doctor.

My point is that if you don't like your pediatrician, find another one.

So it bothers you not one bit that pediatricians are doing this? If not then you should have no problem whatsoever with the patriot act.

Yes, because I can just shop for a new government, just like a new pediatrician...

OOPS!

Unless all the pediatricians in your area are doing it.

ummm. pretty sure the doctors don't HAVE to do this. simply ask your doctor not to ask these kinds of questions. If he doesn't cooperate, move on.

At least you KNOW if he is doing it or not.. can you say the same for the Patriot Act?

The only way that lady found out is because she has a friend on the police force, otherwise she never would have known that a report had been filed about her. And from the article it appears some pressure is being applied on the doctors to ask the questions.

The doctors aren't asking the parents, they're asking the kids.

Once again, we have a knee jerk reaction to a single case... And you right wingers say we liberals are reactionary...

BTW, this isn't anything new. If a pediatrician notices something strange, they have always asked personal questions. It's their job.

Don't like the job your doctor is doing, find another one. Simple.

I added this, in case you missed it.

The doctors aren't asking the parents, they're asking the kids.

A few more examples in this article:

Doc, what’s up with snooping? - BostonHerald.com

Some states are taking up legislation to prevent doctors from asking about it, so it may be just a wee bit more widespread than you think.

What the heck is strange about gun ownership?

I wouldn't know, I use the internet purely for research purposes.

My Spartan is

I would need to know more about the program before I could comment on it.

Great bit of propaganda though.

An anecdote from Michelle Malkin isn't enough to make you scared and outraged? You have much to learn about being a lemming.

1. I didn't attack anyone.
2. Instead of refuting my point, you called me a hypocrite - for "attacking the messenger". If you were being ironic, good job.
