Saddam tried to make it look like he had a nuclear program by screwing with the UN inspectors and with structures designed to give the appearance of facilities designed for WMD production. This was to keep Iran from invading Iraq. Saddam admitted that he never thought the US would actually invade. The intelligence gathered and the conclusions that multiple intelligence agencies came to were exactly what Saddam was attempting to achieve.

I love it when a lefty starts acting like a Sean Hannity, Rush Limabaugh, ORielly he is a buffoon. But the righties here don't seem to ge the connection. Olberman is taking them on with same style they do - At least Olberman doesn't brow beat his guests like Hannity and OReilly.
The righties are finally getting a little of their own medicine. It is about time the smart people in this country started fighting back. Go Keith Go !!!

The president has a higher approval rating than the democrat controlled congress. The same congress that has the lowest approval rating in its history.

Two things bother me in this thread:
1) Who gives a **** if someone is a Righty, Lefty or Centrist? How about instead of labeling people and immediately dismissing them based upon said label, you listen to what they have to say and THEN decide whether you will listen to them or not?
2) People rip Olbermann for how he says what he says. How about you focus on WHAT he says, not HOW he says it?

Yet many people were saying that Iraq did not have a weapons program of any kind, that, in fact, they couldn't even keep their regular army in repair because of the embargo, so they were no real threat to anyone within the Middle East, let alone the US.
BTW, your post makes it seem that the US intelligence is dumber than Saddam. I'm not sure that that was what you were going for.

Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "A t least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c**t." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.
The Raw Story | Book: McCain temper boiled over in '92 tirade, called wife a '****'
McCain's outbursts often erupted when other members rebuffed his requests for support during his bid in 2000 for the Republican nomination for president. A former Senate staffer recalled what happened when McCain asked for support from a fellow Republican senator on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
"The senator explained that he had already committed to support George Bush," the former Senate staffer said. "McCain said ‘f— you' and never spoke to him again."
"He had very few friends in the Senate," said former Senator Smith, who dealt with McCain almost daily. "He has a lot of support around the country, but I don't think he has a lot of support from people who know him well."

He dropped in the c-word as well. Most guys that say that to their wife end up being castrated with a pair of rusty bolt-cutters.

I'm just bringing to light that there was cause to remove Saddam based on the intelligence in hand. If anything it shows the stupidity of Saddam to screw with the international community.
