Anyone catch this meltdown last night by Olbermann?
Olbermann: Mr. President, the war isn't about you - Countdown with Keith Olbermann - MSNBC.com
Holy ****! I've never seen an anchor take a politician to task for something.
Amazing. Worth the watch. If you are a tightie white rightie...you won't like it. If you are a centrist or left, well...you probably will.
I was
and
and finally

The war in Iraq, your war, Mr. Bush, is about how you accomplished the derangement of two nations, and how you helped funnel billions of taxpayer dollars to lascivious and perennially thirsty corporations like Halliburton and Blackwater, and how you sent 4,000 Americans to their deaths for nothing. It is not, Mr. Bush, about your golf game! And, sir, if you have any hopes that next Jan. 20 will not be celebrated as a day of soul-wrenching, heart-felt thanksgiving, because your faithless stewardship of this presidency will have finally come to a merciful end, this last piece of advice:
When somebody asks you, sir, about Democrats who must now pull this country back from the abyss you have placed us at ...
When somebody asks you, sir, about the cooked books and faked threats you foisted on a sincere and frightened nation …
When somebody asks you, sir, about your gallant, noble, self-abnegating sacrifice of your golf game so as to soothe the families of the war dead.
This advice, Mr. Bush: Shut the hell up!

Let's see, I need to get ratings, so I'll be a left wing O'Reilly, but I'll have to be twice the jerk he is to get any attention.

It's a good thing that the world is so black & white that a biased "anchorman" can see clearly what is going on in Iraq. I saw that rant, and was like "yeah, it's that simple, isn't it?". I'm not disagreeing with everything that he said, I just think that there was more to the invasion than Haliburton's profits. We were trying to send a message to the people who hate us, which we all know now went very wrong. Olberman's Monday morning quarterbacking with a sharp tongue (easy to have now that it's Monday) helps nothing.
And I'm a centrist, not a righty.

First of all, I'm damn near as right wing (politically, not morally) as they come and I thought he was spot on. We wasn't being a left wing nut, he was thinking, he was actually using his brain to produce thoughts not just adhearing to a political ideology bc "i'm suppose to." If only people in this country would think for a change, understand what is being said, and what will actually be done. Calling McCain his twin was stupid, and far fetched, but the fact that Bush has killed his party (as non-republican as the party has becoming) is correct. Hopefully, Americans will start to become pationate about this country again instead of complacent and uninterested. Hopefully a new generation of Americans will stand up and say I give a ****.....but until that happens we'll continue to have useless religious fear puppets or communistic gender pawns placed on the ballot instead of a real choice of someone who thinks for themselves, not a party, and looks out for the good of the country instead of the good of their legacy and personal agendas.

We were trying to send a message, and if Bush would have surrounded himself with people who knew what they were talking about the message would have been clear and decisive....instead he alienated Colon Powell who is the greatest military mind of the last 30 years who told him exactly what they needed to do, but instead he listened to Donald Rumsfeld who couldn't find his ass with two hands and a flash light when it comes to military strategy.

While I am not exactly keen on Obama, sadly I, like millions of other Americans will end up voting for him for the express purpose of voting against the Republican party for the way they allowed Bush 43 to make a total mockery of the office of the president.
McCain, while no prize either, certainly has my respect as someone who, unlike Bush/Clinton/Obama, has the battle scars to prove his love for America, but will be climbing an uphill battle due to his predecessor as Gore did in 2000.
Just when I thought I couldn't have any less repect for a president than I already did for Bush 43, along comes the Fortunate Son...George W, shown laughing and dancing on the White House steps - while America's sons and daughters get slaughtered fighting HIS war. The pissed off look on McCain's face when he approached our fearless leader was priceless.

Regardless who wins, it won't be that phukup Junior. That will at least be a small step in the right direction to getting this country back to respectability.

How would you know? I'm actually more of a libertarian, which draws from left & right.
So, I play more right center field. Just because I think that Olberman's completely biased rant had some holes in it, does not make me a righty.
