The irony with Saudi's giving Bush the Heisman...
The day prior Bush sits in the Isreal Knisset(sp) and postures that he never will negotiate with terrorists or states that sponsor terror....
The next day he shows up in Saudi Arabia (The same kingdom that supplied 14/19 hi-jackers in the 9-11 attack) "begging" them to increase OIL OUTPUT. I guess technically he is not negotiating.
Their response is there is not enough demand for it and the reason why oil is sky high is two-fold:
(1) Weak Dollar
(2) Political Instability in the Mid East
The dollar is weak is because fundamentally everyone sees the U.S. in a huge debt position with no way out. With two wars in their 5th and 6th year being fought and taxes being cut and governmental spending up 40% during the bush regime. His policies are the reason the dollar is down nearly 30%.
Secondly his Iraq folly coupled with his saber rattling with the very extreme leader of Iran has been the source of political instability.
Thus he walks out with his two part answer from Saudi saying he agrees with their logic? Really all they had to say is the reason Gas Prices are so high is because of you, George. The meeting would have lasted two minutes and he could be golfing by Saturday morning....
