The Things You Can Learn Here About McCain
For many years liberals and the "non biased" "non-liberal" media have fawned over McCain. That lovable, plain talking maverick who wasn't afraid to stand up to and criticize W. In fact he was even rumored to have been offered the Veep job by Kerry. How nifty! What a wonderful fellow he was until .......... he had the audacity to become the GOP nominee.
Now just from reading the posts on this board I have learned that he is actually a fipflopping, senile, traitorous, carousing, moneygrubbing od geezer who is a lousy speaker, has a Whitewater land deal scandal he is trying to hide, and of course my favorite from the resident village idiot Ole 73 - was responsibile for the loss of his plane when it was hit by a missle while he was sitting in it on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
The same liberals who to this day cry foul about the "swiftboating" of Kerry, now have turned on McCain like a pack of hyenas after a three legged giraffe.
Frankly I'm shocked at the hypocrisy of our "tolerant" liberal friends.
But I look forward to learning so much more about McCain and his unfitness for office. It's only May and you gals are just getting warmed up.

This campaign has really turned what was the prior narrative on its ear.
So many who defended the Clintons have now turned on them. I thought the Dems had to be a "post-Clinton" party before they could win may now have arrived at that place. Hillary, who was seen as so liberal by the right, is seen by many as more of an establishment candidate. Bill has been called out for playing the race card. Wasn't he the first Black POTUS?
MCain's role in the Keating Five was to attend 2 meetings and he knew Charles Keating, being from Arizona, as did Arizona's other US Senator DeConcini. Robert Bennett, Bill Clinton's lawyer made a recommendation not to include MCCain but the Dems, who controlled the Senate at that time, wanted a Repub to be included in the mix because they wawnted the scandal to have a bit of a bipartisian tinge to it. McCain and John Glenn were very minor players and maybe could have been left out of the group. DeConcini, Cranston and Riegle were really the main players IIRC.

Interesting spin on his role.
From Wikipedia:
Quote:
|
Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in legal[88] political contributions from Charles Keating Jr. and his associates at Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, along with trips on Keating's jets[87] that McCain failed to repay until two years later.[89] In 1987, McCain was one of the five senators whom Keating contacted in order to prevent the government’s seizure of Lincoln, which was by then insolvent and being investigated for making questionable efforts to regain solvency. McCain met twice with federal regulators to discuss the government's investigation of Lincoln.[87]

Bully, were you asleep in 2000 when McCain was running against Bush2 and the Bush campaign pulled pages out of the Nixon handbook to bury him with off the wall charges including that he fathered an illegitimate child with a black woman. (Must be a favorite since that was used on Clinton too).
McCain has been a lap dog to the religious right ever since he visited the late Jerry Falwell to get his blessings and support.
My theory is Cindy McCain and her family are calling the shots for Sen.McCain and he will say whatever he is told. Mrs. McCain want to be the first former USC cheerleader to be First Lady more than John wants to be president and she controls the family money.

Hmmm, let's see. In 2000 he ripped Bush for going to Bob Jones University (apparently your dream school) and referred to Falwell and Robertson as "agents of intolerance." Since the 2004 election, when he ramped up his bid for the 2008 nomination, he has flip-flopped on that, speaking at Liberty and embracing Falwell, before he died, and Robertson. Though as someone with his head so far up his ass as you are I wouldn't expect you to have noticed that:
LYNCHBURG, Va., May 13 -- Six years after labeling the Rev. Jerry Falwell one of the political "agents of intolerance," Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) delivered the commencement address Saturday at Falwell's Liberty University, and vigorously defended his support for the war in Iraq while saying that opponents have a moral duty to challenge the wisdom of a conflict that has exacted a huge toll on the nation.
And by the way, if you Cons don't like "swift boating" then you shouldn't have opened that can of worms in 2004. The difference now it that the Dems are going after his actual record, whereas the GOP was fabricating actions by Kerry and questioning his service record. I guess the key to you Cons now is that a Vet is off limits for everything, including his voting record....unless they are a Dem. Got it.

Of course Bully thinks Bush2 and Cheney are American hero's and 2 of the greatest military minds ever to hold elected office.
Before Bully starts throwing around Manchurian Candidate talk about Obama he should rent the movie so he can know its about a former POW who is brainwashed in an Asian POW camp.

Best one yet - McCain is the Manchurian Candidate.
I preferred the Sinatra original over the Denzel Washington remake.
Keep em coming girls. No mention of child molesting but I think it's just a matter of time.

LA try reading you Wiki link - legal ...
Robert Bennett was counsel for the Senate and he was the one who made the recommendation. Multiple sources who covered the story at the time thought that McCain wasn't much of a factor. Again neither was Dem John Glenn.

Or can't you count past one.

Here's something that should really enrage you: John McCain hates America. Look - no flag lapel pin.
I hear he's also close to a radical preacher.

McCain is wearing a far more important symbol: His arm.
Some guys have earned the right to wear (or not wear) whatever they want.
That's our next President, by the way.

You believe that John McCain's arm is a more important symbol than the flag of the United States of America.
Was it John McCain's arm, waving boldly over Fort McHenry, that inspired Francis Scott Key to write his famous poem?
Is it John McCain's arm that is draped over the caskets of fallen soldiers?
Was it John McCain's arm that Neil Armstrong planted triumphantly on the moon?
Do football players wear John McCain's arm decals on their helmets?
Is John McCain's arm so important that it must be illuminated if it flies at night?
Is June 14th known as John McCain's Arm Day?
Did Clint Eastwood make a movie called "John McCain's Arms of our Fathers"?
You can go ahead and pledge your allegiance to John McCain's arm. I will be waving Old Glory with the true patriots.

Weak stuff compared to the Village Idiot's claims and the Manchurian Candidate thing - but I will add it to my growing list of knowledge about McCain.
Thanks.

John McCain's extensive injuries to his shoulders, hips, and right knee are what MADE and MAKES the American flag what it is.

It was men like John McCain stubbornly refusing to surrender. They had every reason to despair after what had happened recently in Washington.
But, they, like McCain, refused to surrender. They stayed with their men when they could have run.
If you want to hear some inspiring stories of courage, read about John McCain and his captivity.

He has spilled his blood for fallen soldiers. His men, his country. So yes, that flag is John McCain. John McCain is that flag.

Bull, I hope you are kidding.
I have a bad feeling that that person actually did try to besmirch McCain's service.
This is one of the few times I'm at a loss for words.
That is the one person I have on ignore. This is the one person on this board who I feel is truly malignant.
I can only hope that someday that person opens his flapper around the right sort of person.
Unfortunately, I have a feeling that person would never spill his bilious invective in public.
I would hope that the rest of the liberals/left of centers, would step up and denounce those attacks on McCain's service.
Just the way I did when people who weren't there were ripping on kerry.
If they don't, or if they join in the cheapshots, then they are completely worthless human beings.
By the way, it just isn't that important to try to score political points or get "payback." Say the right thing.
