Another White Female sex offender doesn't go to jail
Yesterday the 42 year old former Roseville High School French teacher was sentenced to 3 years probation for having a sexual relationship with a 16 year old student she met at school. She was charged with 9 counts.
Her lawyer, David Griem got the charges reduced to 2nd degree because it was consenual she avoided mandatory jail time.
From the Free Press:
"Had Batkins not been the teen's teacher, she would not have been criminally charged because the age of consent in Michigan is 16. But a state law makes it a crime for teachers to have sex with students, no matter their age.
Griem said it's a bad statute."

I wonder how many of the men in this state who are teachers could do this and skate with a 3 year tether sentence. My guess is ZERO.

I don't have a problem with it. In fact, I'm more PO'd that the female teachers didn't do this more often at MY school when I was there.

I don't know about that. I had some really ugly female teachers.
Of course, you'd have dropped a cougar or two in my HS, I might have changed my mind...

If I had a 16 yr old daughter having sex with a 40 yr old female teacher, I'd be more concerned that she's a lesbian. But I don't have, nor will I ever have, a daughter.

I think she got tagged because of the teacher/student relationship... otherwise there are no other laws being broken...
If the kid was 14, she should/would be in jail forever.
