McCain (the former POW in Vietnam) Flip-Flops Again, Now Backs Measure to Ban Affirmative Action
I look forward to 'round the clock coverage of this latest McCain (the former POW in Vietnam) flip-flop by the mainstream media and right wing hate radio...
McCain backs effort banning affirmative action - John McCain News - MSNBC.com
Quote:
|
WASHINGTON - Presidential challenger John McCain said Sunday that he supports a proposed ballot initiative in his home state that would prohibit affirmative action policies from state and local governments. A decade ago, he called a similar effort "divisive."

First off only Democrats can flip flop. Secondly, I don't really mind someone who's opinions can possibly change every decade or so - it's the every month or so that pisses people off.

the media and right wing hate radio equation is:
Democrats = flip-flop
Republicans = evolving positions

I'm sure he'll apologize at the next NAACP convention like he did on his MLK day flip flop.

and I'm sure the mainstream media and right wing hate radio will scrutinize him and his "evolving positions" the way they do Obama's "flip-flops"...

The mainstream media hasn't had much to criticize Obama about since he started wearing his flag lapel pin.

and the most amusing part of the crucial issue of flag lapel pins is that at the same time the media was hammering Obama for not wearing one, neither McCain nor Hillary were wearing them either.
Yep, favorable treatment for Obama.

Well Obama did skip visiting the wounded troops which is bad, unless of course he visited them and then it would be bad because it would be a political stunt.

Of course, he could have gone without all the cameras, but that would have been bad because it wouldn't have been on the news.

Because they would have been screaming to the mountaintops that he went and had a private visit with the troops. And that would have been fine, but to not go because the media couldn't accompany him is very weak.
Besides Barry was busy in Berlin working out with this chick.

As thousands waited at the Sieges Saule monument in Berlin to hear Obama’s sensational speech, a BILD reporter met Barack all alone – in the gym! Here's the incredible account of Judith Bonesky’s meeting…

it's just interesting how the media, right wing hate radio and various other people (who would've criticized him for politicizing the "wounded heroes") seem to think he could've swooped in under the dark of night in some clandestine fashion without the media knowing about it...
which, by their defintion, he may have...

You're missing my point. It would be perfectly fine for the media to know about it and Obama to talk about it. It would be bull**** for Obama not to go because the cameras couldn't come with him.

I doubt the media and right wing hate radio would leave it at "wow - what a nice guy - he visited our wounded heroes he must really care about them"...

First off, what does Obama find "divisive" here (his words)?
"The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting."
Second off, this is about racial preferences not affirmitive action. Most of us who've had to live with this our entire working lives know the difference between ensuring representitive candidate pools and discriminating to affect an outcome.
Third off, nothing is banned here. It refers to the state, not private entities.
So does McCain back a measure that bans affirmative action? Sounds to me like he doesn't want the state giving preferential treatment to anyone based on the criteria spelled out.
Desparate liberal trolling at it's finest.
