McCain ad
I just saw a McCain ad that said Obama will raise middle class taxes and taxes on Seniors.
Is this true?

It's certainly true he would raise them on small businesses

Of course not but truth has little to do with the McCain campaign since the Bush2 folks started limiting his cell phone minutes.
Its individuals making over $200K and the tax increases might get back to Clinton levels. You remember those. The economy was booming, there was job creation and deficits were getting smaller.

Nice correlation...so you believe that raising taxes right now will create jobs?

You can make anything seem true. If someone voted once against lowering taxes on the poor because it was tied to some war funding bill, it gets spinned into "______ voted to raise taxes on the poor."

If the money is invested at home, and not in Iraq, absolutely.
Invest in American infrastructure and create American jobs. Win-win, unless you're making 7 figures or more, in which case I say, "That's the price of doing business here."

Well I'm certainly confused, is Barry's position today that he will cease funding to Iraq? Because that's the only way your scenario could possibly play out

No, it's not. His position is to get us out of their as soon as possible, with respect to conditions in the region. The sooner they get home, the sooner our tax dollars come home, the sooner we invest them here.

This is true. Fix our roads means faster, safer travel with less wear and tear on commercial vehicles and cuts down on fuel consumption by reducing congestion. This increases profits for our businesses. Investing in green energy technologies will provide jobs as well as cheap renewable power to supply our economy. Invest in increased passenger and freight rail capacity. Make it more efficient and cost effective to transport goods and people.
There are lots of ways to invest funding that have an indirect positive effect on the economy and the number of jobs.

So we're in agreement, since he's not cutting funding to Iraq then raising taxes will not create jobs

Which will be basically erased when he increases taxes on many businesses

Can you tell me why you are so in favor of Bush's tax cuts but not Obama's?

Not likely. Throughout history, the benefits of supplying reliable, well maintained infrastructure has always proved to outweigh the cost to build and maintain it. Whether it was Rome's system of roads or the TVA, government investment in infrastructure has always supported economic activity or created additional growth.

He's cutting taxes on my small business
Hell, I'd probably vote for the guy if he just kept them at current levels, let alone cut em

I'm sorry for some reason I thought you were in favor of Bush's tax cuts for the top earners.

Weed still believes the GOP Big Lie that cutting taxes always improves things.

Hardly. He's just trying the same old tactics of "tax and spend liberal."

Not true....now if Obama promised to get the troops out of Iraq and in return would implement across the board tax cuts then you might be on to something
