America can make history this November
Yes, my fellow Americans, you can make history with the presidential election this November. You can elect someone who would be absolutely unique in the presidential history of the United States. Can you do it? Will you do it? It's up to you.
I'm referring, of course, to John McCain. If elected, he would become the oldest president at inauguration in U.S. history. We say we don't discriminate against seniors, but in the privacy of the voting booth, who knows what will happen? My fellow Americans, what will YOU do?

I think the bigger issue is whether or not he will remember he is running by the time the election rolls around.

I think the bigger issue is whether the Democrats will be able to mark their ballots correctly this time.

I think the bigger issue is how many registered democratic voters will be thrown out because a republican pollster called them a felon.

I think the bigger issue is the number of votes for Democrats from dead people.

I think the even bigger issue will be how many Democrats are taken off the voting rolls in heavily Democrats wards, how few voting machines will be put in those wards, and how many ballots from people the Rove cronies suspect of being Dem voters (particularly African American soldiers) will have their ballots discarded.

My friends, you disappoint me. This isn't about who's trying to cast fraudulent votes or violate another's voting rights, it's about making history. Don't you want to make history? And if McCain doesn't win, what does that say about us as a society? As we still stuck in our ageist past, when backward thinking neanderthals thought anyone over 65 was a drooling senile who needed to be put out to pasture? Shame, shame...

Really? 72 is older than the 74 Reagan was when he was inagurated in 1985? Wow, you learn something new every day.
Besides, the House and Senate are full of old rich white men in their 60's and 70's throughout history.
Nice try, but this is a:

He must only a year or so older than Reagan was in 1981....I know he was old when he took office.

I meant, of course, at initial inauguration. Ronald Reagan was reelected in 1984 and reinaugurated in 1985. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I would not give me to much credit.
To me the best president would be a mix between the green party and the libertarians/constitutionalists. This only happens in my fairyland
I don't know why freedom and the environment are the most important thing to me, but i will keep trying to vote for who i think is best.
Kind of funny(hahaha) that they usually contradict each other

Nice job splitting hairs but your argument is still an epic fail. The US voted for a 70 year old man and a 74 year old man in 2 consecutive elections (a 74 year old man with dimishing mental capacities), so a 72 year old man would not be anything new. No discrimination there, why would the American people discriminate now.
Hmmm, what's the bigger precedent? Another old white male, younger than a man whom the American people voted for overwhelmingly in 1984, or an African-American?

Yeah dude, I'm a freedom loving libertarian. However, I'll admit the environment is the biggest question mark I have about that system of government. I'll be voting for Barr though.

bad news for you but - analysis of th voting demographics consistently shows that older Americans are more likely to discriminate against older candidates for elective office. I take that to mean they know what they are losing in terms of capacity and don't some nut job who is losing his marbles manning the watch as our planet hurtles toward the sun.
