Newspaper story US/Poland agree to interceptor missile batteries - fallout from Georgian invasion.

Bloomberg.com: Worldwide

Quote:
The Russian incursion heightened Poland's security concerns and ``made the Polish government a little more willing to conclude a deal,'' said Wade Boese, research director at the Arms Control Association, a non-partisan group in Washington. ``It may also have made the Bush administration more willing to meet the Polish demands.''

Look at a map. Look several hundred miles to the southeast of Tbilisi.

Check out the nation run by the 8th century theocrats that pine for the coming of the 12th Imam. You know, the country that is hellbent on enriching uranium despite massive oil reserves. The country that just, with North Korean technical assistance, upgraded the range of their ballistic missiles to the extent that every major European capital is now within reach.

See the trajectory the missiles would take as they had to western Europe?

C'mon, Kaiser, this is re: nuclear primacy v. Russia. Stop it with that Iran nonsense. You know better.

It's about several things.

We already have nuclear primacy - and will continue to do so until the ChiComs and Russkies develop missiles that can sit idle with fuel in them.

Not sure why you're discounting the Iran angle so easily.

Latest buzz in the defense analyst circles is our vulnerability to an EMP attack launched off our coasts through an Iranian proxy like Hezbollah. Once they have the bomb, that is. They already have the short-range delivery system in place. Read several articles on it in the past week or so. Not an immediate threat, but sobering nonetheless.
